A Walk in the Forest It was early morning, and the forest was teeming with life, as always. A young girl was walking through the forest. She liked to escape into nature, it helped her relax. Emily had curly blonde hair and piercing blue eyes hidden behind thick framed glasses. Her hourglass figure seemed uncommon for the average hiker. The 24-year-old writer was compiling an article about oddities of nature. She loved the wilderness and all it had to offer and enjoyed documenting it. Her best friend, Sabrina, accompanied her. I pushed open the door to the small log cabin, located deep in the local forest, it wasn’t easy to find, but after three months of going to and from school, I’d gotten pretty good at navigating the twisting paths. I took a deep breath, the warm air cooler now, as the hotter months roll in, as I pass a coat rack near the door, I take the leather collar from it, part of my agreement to keep my freedoms is I have to wear the collar whenever I’m home. I buckle it snugly around my neck and look around the house. “Morgan?” I call, “you home?” There was no reply, she must have been out, I walked down a sort hall, to an oaken door, inside was the room Morgan and I slept in… and played in, opening it, I find no sing of my Drider girlfriend, I smiled, good, I’d get time to surprise her. The room wasn’t that big or small, the big double bed was in one corner, the other corner taken up by a large web, Morgan’s bed, two large wardrobes stood between the door and the bed, one held
