MAR
Mar has always been counted out, excluded because he's a Magikarp. He finds that unfair to judge by species and power, so he decided that will become one day, the strongest Gyarados in the world. (also, he has a crush on his teammate. Shh!)
FREYA
Freya has been called ugly before. Almost every time she sees a judgmental Pokémon, she's immediately called ugly. Her goal is similar to Mar's, that she wants to be the most beautiful Milotic in the world. (also, she has a crush on her teammate. Still a better love story than Twilight.)
