False Morel
Fake Morels are filled with a cotton like substance in the inside.
While some people eat them, they can also make you very sick.
We do not eat these ones. In fact, we destroy them so no one can mistakenly think they have a real morel and then get sick. They are not deadly, just cause gastrointestinal issues.
We found several of these on our hunt. You soon learn the small differences in their outward appearance as apposed to the black morel. We all made bets before we picked and looked inside. The kids were experts by the end of the day.
