She glanced over, and saw that Azzy was sound asleep. She creeped out through the window of his hive, and to a tree right beside it. She jumped up onto the first branch, and then climbed up from there.
She finally reached a high spot, and looked down. She was a pretty long way up.
There was a squirrel on the next branch up, going through its store of acorns.
Almost got it..
Suddenly, there was a cracking sound, as the branch under her snapped, and fell to the ground below. She let out a loud yelp of terror, but managed to grab another branch a bit lower before she went with the stick. She was about just 25 feet off the ground, if she fell she could surely wrench her ankle, or snap her neck.
