I scratch at my brown hair and stretch my arms out wide, greeting the Thursday morning sunrise. The clock reads 6:30, so I should be out at the bus stop in about ten minutes. Quietly, I sling my backpack over one shoulder and slip on my Vans. I tip-toe in to the living room/kitchen. Something muffled to my right makes a gargling sort of clearing throat noise. Slowly I turn my head to see my father slouched on the couch, a beer bottle stuck perfectly in his hand. His stubble is apparent, his shirt dirtied as well as his sweatpants.
