She sucked in the unfiltered ash, closed her eyes, and marveled at the warmth that traveled down to her chest. The ash held her closer than anyone else she had ever known in the city. She smiled, and cracked open her eyes, but all that greeted her was the wind, blowing out the last embers of her cigarette as tar slithered down her throat. She coughed, crushing the cigarette on the dashboard. She started her black Ford’s ignition, watching for a moment at the exhaust lingering around the car before thSmoke-stacked Lungs10 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes

Don't Leave"Yeah.... this isn't doing it for me... listen Kekoa, it's time we just broke this off," Janik said as she put her hands behind her head. "Cadence and I are going to get back together, and I'll be happier with him than I am with you. It's for the best, don't worry, you'll find someone better."Don't Leave19 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Bluebird? What the hell are you saying? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'LL BE HAPPIER WITH CADENCE?!" Kekoa yelled, grabbing Janik by the shoulders and shaking her lightly, hoping she was just kidding around, but something in the look of her eyes told him that this wasn't a joke.
"You heard what I said. You're too... pushy... and you annoy me," Janik mumbled. "

I like butts, not boobs"I um..." Kaimana said as he disentangled himself from his now long-term girlfriend. "Pia... I'm sorry... I can't. It's not that I don't like you or anything... I just... literally can't have these kinds of feelings towards you."I like butts, not boobs18 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"You're gay," Pia said with a roll of her eyes and a sigh as she scooted away from the Tibumeru, pulling her hair back into a ponytail since there was no point in leaving it down any more.
"What? Don't you think I'd know if I was?" Kaimana hissed back.
"When you think 'sexy', what pops into your head. Me, or something else?"
"Pia I find you very attractive!"
"That's not what I said. I said sexy, not attractive.

PredatorYou were everything my mother warned me about. Stay away from girls like that. She always told me with that seriousness in her tone that left no room for discussion.Predator2 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
But surely my mother knew nothing of how it felt to be with a girl like you. The danger of being with someone so destructive made me feel alive. Danger lurked in your midnight eyes and when you smiled it looked more predatory than anything else.
You walked with a self-satisfied swagger. You were a panther, sleek and sensuous. Your body rippled and rumbled - you didn't walk, you prowled. Your head hung low, as if you had the scent of blood in your nostrils and the way you grinne

The Tiny Theater (Canada x reader) - Intro18 hours. That was how long it would be until you went to your first day of theater camp at the community center. You were excited, you loved singing and acting. and you were decent at dancing. There were so many possibilities for what could happen there. The whole camp could be a pedophile trap for all you knew. But if it wasn't. you could get cast as the lead! you could meet cute actor boys! You could make new dramatic bffs! It would be perfect~. You sighed. 18 more hours to go.The Tiny Theater (Canada x reader) - Intro4 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This

It was horrible how the magician loved the water nymph.
Some might have thought that he loved her because of her incredible, amazing beauty. Some might have thought it was because of her emerald eyes - no!
Merlin loved her because of so many things, none of them easy to explain. Most of all it was because of her playful sense of humour. They both seemed to see the ridiculous things people did with amazement and laughter. Humans were a peculiar bunch.
The wizard was thinking of an image of Nimue at a wedding and the delightful hat she wore to honour the groom. It was quite possible that no one else in the world would see the mess

Calling the ClockEyes lidded, grins carefully tucked away, cheap beer forgotten on the table. The five of us lost in the slide of chips across the table and the isolation of the barrier of cards hiding us from one another. Poker was something that we usually did when there was nothing else to do. Something we would take a chance on when Sam was too stoned to make a Wal-Mart run or Wes decided that watching Tea with Mussolini for the tenth time wasn't such a good idea.Calling the Clock7 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
The games never last long. Liam hates gambling. It makes him nervous, and he ends up sweating and swearing under his breath. I'm not surprised when he folds the first chance he gets. Jerzy does

CdR: BooksEars up, the fox slipped through the woods, an old scroll held gently in her mouth. She was looking for a place to read.CdR: Books20 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
She came across a large tree and wagged her tails. It was the perfect spot.
She circled the tree once and paused, sniffing the air. Looking up, she smiled, “Miss Cherry, konbanwa.” Kaome took her human form and climbed up to join the vampire.
The other woman looked at the Kitsune and nodded, “Good evening, Little Fox. How may I help you?”
Kaome held up the scroll, “I was hoping to read some…May I join you?”
The vampire nodded and Kaome settled onto a branch, opening the scroll.

He folds his legs underneath him, gathering his wings closer. They are soft against his cheeks.
“Life?” he asks, voice quiet and serious and she laughs at him, tilting her head back to look him in the eye.
“What else?”
He hums thoughtfully, tilting his head to the right and simply watching her. Her shirt hangs off her shoulders, big enough he can see her sharp shoulders, and the still healing bruises there. Her arms are bandages, band-aids and wh

June 18th, 2013So deducing the answer to any problem intellectually means being a sociopath which means being superior.June 18th, 20135 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
So having the ability to be selfish means sociopathic.
So apparently being a self-identified sociopath is the in thing now.
So apparently toting a label attached to people incapable of feeling bad for punching someone in the gut because they can and won't get caught makes one superior to someone who figures, "Hey, I wouldn't much like it if someone laughs at me after punching me in the gut. Maybe I shouldn't do that to the other guy."
Apparently the former is somehow a result of "superior logic" and the latter a result of "inferior emo

Or a flower field with golden white petals, rosered flowers all around, lying between them, staring up at the sky, one could see the blue, the wonderful, bright, shining blue, tainted by the red colour of a vanishing sun. The breeze would make petals twirl in front of you, painting a picture of their own.
Maybe the big blue herself? The Queen of Waters stretching out before you, glistering in the sunlight, wave

“Wat doe jij nou! Kom onmiddellijk naar beneden!” Hij was al drie meter boven de grond en de schors maakte groene strepen op zijn broek. “Weet je wel hoe gevaarlijk dat is!? Wat als je valt?”
Hij lachte alleen maar, wist met zijn andere hand nog een steunpunt te vinden en trok zich op. &ld

Random Thing I wanted to write with no good title.((Insert explanation of how both Finland and Illinois are dragons here.))Random Thing I wanted to write with no good title.23 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
Illinois walked slowly across the desert sands, The shade of Finland's wings keeping her somewhat cool. She somewhat envied him, Having wings, But it was sometimes useful not to have cumbersome wings slowing you down. This gave her an idea. "Catch me!" She said playfully, Beginning to dash across the sands. Finland looked surprised for a moment, Before folding his wings and running after her. Illinois was grinning as she ran, "Too slow!" She barked, Seeing something ahead that frightened her. She gave a screech as she reached it. It was a ravine, And she couldn't stop. Her claws were skidding, Skidding, And Finland was shouting something, Trying to reach her faster.
Illinois began to fall, Crying out. Oh how she wished for wings right at that moment. Nothing came of the wish though, And she was still falling. She then realized the so-called ravine, Had stalagmites on the bottom. And of course they had to be sharp
