Lodowy Plomien - Wstep20 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes

Such A Woman 5Gabrielle sighed in relief, now able to stand on her own two feet again. It had taken time and a lot of falls, but she eventually regained control over her modified body. It wouldn't do to have the Angel of World's Ending stumbling and tripping over her own feet, arms waving around wildly.Such A Woman 514 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
She still had a little bit of unsteadiness, but that wouldn't matter after another nineteen hours.
In the meantime, Gabrielle had to gently let down her pets on their plans for a girl's night out, explaining that -first of all- the transformation was a condition of her wish to let Caleb be a girl for a day so the idiot could finally have her shot at the W

Mercury, The Maiden of JourneyShe ran - as fast as she could, moving forward, toward the eternity. There was nothing that could stop her - there was no abyss deep enough or a mountain high enough, there was no sea wide enough or a bridge narrow enough. She surpassed all the obstacles which were in her way - jumped off, walked around, climbed and, if she had no choice, just found another way. But to stop? It never happened. Nothing could stop her from fulfilling her desire. She always believed that the world must move forward - there is no point messing in past, since it will not change - the only thing you can change is the future, and if she wants to control her fate - anMercury, The Maiden of Journey19 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This

TaxAt the end of each month, when the moon is high in the sky, Nataya Black and her family sit in a dark corner of their home and wait for the screams.Tax21 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
This month is no different.
She huddles close to her father and searches for his hand in the dark. His clammy palm clings tightly to her own, the sound of their shallow breaths is all she can hear. Her brother Ailill, though sickly and weak, stays silent despite the fear she can feel in his tense muscles; he, like all children here, has long since learned that sobbing never prevents the carnage. She holds him close between her chest and her bent knees and brushes a kiss into his fair hair.

Pie-lent NightAll at once, the guns stopped. Shells ceased to trace their meteoric paths through the air above the battlefield in a single breath. After the constant assault of explosions, the silence was deafening, and Sergeant Key Lime was understandably a little jumpy. He looked around to make sure that none of his boys were about to break the tenuous Creamsmas Eve truce and spied a young Pievate huddled up against the trench wall, clutching his rifle as though he didn’t think that the fighting would be suspended for more than a couple of minutes.Pie-lent Night22 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
To tell the truth, Lime felt the same way, but orders are orders, and they had been told to stand down, if only for the night. He made his way over to the kid, ignoring the sugary snow that blew over the top of the trench.
“What’s your name, Pievate?” he asked, hunkering down next to him, offering a smoke and lighting one of his own when the kid passed the matches back.
“Meringue, Sergeant.” He sounded calmer than he

Orca sat at the table with Ricky, trying not to look like he was curling up on himself protectively as he looked around. Cabinets, icebox, appliances, counters, even a little cork board with various notes pinned to it. Out of curiosity, he stood to read one of them.
Out of milk, pick some up at the grocer's. Left money on the dresser by the bed. If you plan on killing grocer, call me first so I can find a new place to shop. Save some for me. Signed, Luke... Corrupt, you twit, I know you wrinkled your nose at me!
Sometimes Orca wondered if his other employer would ever be right in the head.
"Oh, that's r

Five Elements The hide flapped closed behind them as he pushed his way into the interior tent. An elderly woman sitting crossed legged in the centre tossed aside her stitching and immediately rose to her knees.Five Elements15 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
“My, my, my, my,” the old woman chided quickly, “Now what happened here?”
“I don’t know!” Dean confessed immediately. “I found her like this!” He knelt carefully and placed Evangeline at the mystic’s knees.
The yurt’s entrance whipped open again, and Michael cried, “It was my fault! It was after me!” as he tumbled in behind them. “She&rsqu

Brief Bits from the Layton Moments-verse"Huh? What are we talking about again?" Ricky asked as he was getting lost in all this. He didn't even understand why Phynn mentioned souls being out. He shrugged and finished making a sandwich,Brief Bits from the Layton Moments-verse1 day ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Here Orca, you can have it." he smiled at his friend while offering his sandwich, he couldn't help but wonder why Orca was being such a loon today. Let alone know why he was so upset. He just hoped a sandwich would make him happy.
"Oh right, sorry about that whole... thing, if someone's head explodes around the house, sorry about that." Arioch said with a simple shrug only leaving Ricky to be more confused.
Phynn lifted an eyebrow at him as Orca b

A magpie swopped down, his black and white wings shimmering in the dawn. A mouse dangled in his mouth. He landed and cocked his head to the side, his single eye fixed onto Sophie. She stroked his head, and he dropped the mouse into her other hand.
"Thank you, Rafe," Sophie said with a smile. Rafe blinked that single eye, pecked her hand, then launched back into the air.
Sophie cupped her hands to either side of her mouth and yelled, "We'lI be together soon!"
Sophie was almost mine. That

Unchanging DreamThe dream was different than any he could remember having. Remiel wasn’t looking at images he couldn’t change, he wasn’t looking at anything. He was drifting though darkness, an endless expanse of black. Unlike one might think however there was no fear, there was something warm and safe there.Unchanging Dream11 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
“You can’t escape you know.” The voice was worn and soft, and Remi turned around, eyes wide, staring into melancholy blue eyes. “I’m sorry. I’m running too. But we can’t escape.” A pale hand reached out and a ripple came from the finger, images flicking behind in the darkness. The image

What the heck is plasma? I gripped my schedule tight and frowned down at the title of my next class: PEC - Plasma and Energy Control.
I don't know about you, but this sounded pretty dull. I mean, what were we going to do, hum and meditate about the powers of energy in the universe, moving through us like the Force, or something? And, now that I had thought about it, I was pretty sure plasma was the stuff that grew in plants. Or was it some part of the inside shell of eggs?
I should have paid more attention during science lab last year.
Thanks to my map, I found room 302 fairly easily, but I spent upwards of ten minutes standing outs

Digi couldn`t help but feel scared as the pitch black creeped over him. Suddenly Light broke through the black and illuminated the room. Digi closed his eyes, the light blinded him for a few moments. Even though he was unable to see ,Digi could feel the presence of many people. He could feel the wavelength of their souls, crowded into the main hall. Then ,as Digi reopened his eyes ,voices broke the silence. All shouting a single word, `Surprise!` Digi was amazed with the sight which met his gaze.
