The Rebel Prince - Chapter One

Chapter One – The Letter
A beautifully decorated white, elegant envelope stares enticingly at me, decorated with gorgeous golden swirls and a golden rose seal. My hands hold onto it delicately as if it is made of glass and I run my finger gently over its waxy seal. Within this paper cage is my confession, a letter that I, Princess Elissia Osiera, wrote directly for the eyes of the Rebel Prince. For many moons now I have longed for this letter to be delivered from my heart to the Prince’s hands but my efforts are always fruitless. My lips separate and I let out a soft sigh realising that this longing is just a childish dream, slinging the envelope gracefully like a discus onto my king-sized bed before throwing myself down next to it. The Rebel Prince, the leader of the Rebellion, such a title fitting of such an elusive man. The small town of Seacliff in the year 2400:

Day 9 after the catastrophe:

Rumor goes through the internet that aliens have arrived on earth. Supposedly it all started with a meteorite crashing into a beach on an island.

What's more, people whisper about a shadowy organization having taken camp on said island. An organization pretty similar to Area 51, conducting various top secret experiments, including human experiments.

Apparently, after securing the meteorite, they had locked the discoverer of it into a chamber, together with his discovery.

Alex was a good girl. She always did as she should and was nice to everyone. She never had to be punished when she was growing up either. Her parents loved her and other parents wished their kids were like her. Alex went through her life in a nice and 'safe' way. "Okay, Alex, let's set some boundaries," David said. Alex and David were sitting on one of the beds in the hotel; Rachel was reading over on the couch.

They had driven for the last six hours and the car was beginning to get really cramped. Rachel couldn't drive and David didn't trust Alex to drive. Also, Alex seemed to have no self control or respect of personal boundaries. No matter what David said for her to do, Alex always found an excuse to either take off her clothes or cuddle. Or both. Anja sucked in air sharply when she stubbed her toe on a stone sticking out of the road. She kicked it. It didn't go far. She was an average girl in almost every regard, and nobody paid her a second glance as she stormed block after block. Or maybe it was the fact that she was a mere five inches tall that they didn't notice her. Anyway, today just wasn't going well for her. And just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, she took a wrong step and felt her stomach rise to her throat. She screamed as she clung to the metal grating over the street drain with all her might.
Rolling his shoulders back, Everett groaned. He'd just had the toughest day at work ever, what with all the angry customers that seemed to think he ran the system. He scratched the back of his neck, clearing his throat. The weather was way too cold already for September, compelling him to shiver.
