Sitting in one of the church’s pews, I spent a large portion inside the church just
staring off into a distant gaze. It is silent in the church, just the way I like it. The few people around me are mainly in the middle of their own deep silent prayers with their face scrunch in deep concentration.
I always used to wonder that the people here are praying about every time I came here in this church for the mass, sometimes alone and sometimes with my parents. I closed my eyes. But now, it doesn’t really matter anymore…
Not long ago, my parents… passed away.
Those memories… it still continues to haunt me. It k

“Mrs. Harris.”
The woman in the kitchen gave a small jump, as if she had forgotten that there was a party of people for her in the next room. She turned to give him a warm smile. “Why Ryan, I didn’t realize you were there. Can I get you something? Are you hungry?”
Ryan shook his head. If anything, he should be reminding her and Rylie to eat. Rylie herself had been so silent, Ryan wasn’t sure if she had a bite.
“Someone was asking for you,” he said curtly.
“Who was it, dear?”
“I’m... not sure.” To him, everyone at the gathering looked the same. Same frowns

We made it in time at the McDonalds. Apparently, I was wrong. Instead of letting the fast-food restaurant be closed soon, everything turns out to be quite opposite. Everyone here is still active and wide awake, as if time didn’t matter to them. I take another relook at my watch to see that it is indeed twelve in the midnight. For a second I thought my eyes deceive me, but as I take another look again, everything is running as normal as it is like in the daytime. There are even kids playing at the kids’ playground room.
By the time it is our turn to choose our order, I was surprise to see the nice stranger ordering ten hamburgers,

"Knees higher on the kick Leonardo! Donatello, kick harder. Raphael, let your moves flow. Do not let your body become rigid. Michelangelo, remember to spin." Splinter said as his sons tried to perfect the swinging back kick.
Mikey yelped again, falling on his shell whenever he tried to spin. He knew he needed to spin to give power for the upcoming kick. Sensei had done it several times to show the turtles. The funny thing was that Mikey could do it in his head. He understood the steps to complete the kata, it just didn't seem to transl

Monster Lititure - Journalism assignmentEntering the Journalism classroom, X was hardly dismayed to see that there were no students other than himself. He started to look around for a clock of some sort to tell him what time it was. He had left the gymnasium perhaps a little too early, considering that the coach gave him ten minutes to change into his regular clothing. The vampire did not think himself to have taken too long or too quickly for his dressing and quick shower.Monster Lititure - Journalism assignment2 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
Spotting the clock, there was still another ten minutes until his next class. Perhaps he had rushed after all.
Taking a seat near the middle of the empty classroom, he realized with a jolt that it was not as l

Contest Short Story: A Trip to Dad'sI sit there, under the sink, reading a novel I've read thousands of times. His apartment is a mess, as always, but he just sits there and sleeps. As always. I was sad, and scared, I just wanted to go home, but now I'm just pissed. So naturally, I walk into his bedroom to tell my hard-headed father off.Contest Short Story: A Trip to Dad's2 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
“Dad,” I say.
“Go away, I'm sleeping.”
I sigh and gather my courage. “You are always sleeping! You never get up!” He's up now.
“What do you want me to do? I'm tired, and I have to work and you don't, so shut up!”
“You hardly work five hours a day! And you don't have time to clean

Six YearsPaul's whining could often be heard all over the house. Right now it was loud and irritating as his two older brothers messed with him. Keith and Paul shared a room, and right now Paul was scooted into the back corner of the top bunk bed, trying to keep away as the redhead swung his fist at him.Six Years2 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
"I'm gonna kill yew!" Keith shouted-- Paul had pinched his arm earlier and Keith still hadn't let it go.
Sam was standing back, chucking hot wheels at Paul and snickering. Paul kept ducking, arms over his head as he whined and kicked.
"Leave me 'lone!" the five-year-old wailed, and then the bedroom door suddenly slammed open.
Their father towered

‘Why not?’
It was very important that the first ever image we developed shouldn’t be a blurry snap of my feet or the living room carpet. The first sound to come from a new piano should be a proper tune and not a few notes struck at random. First contact with water should be a dive, not toes in the shallows. I didn’t want us—me and my cousin Charlie—to christen our new camera with any old photo. Our first picture should be the best. How could I make someone like Charlie understand something like that?

It was a nice summer day and the two were excited since it was so close to their Sweet Sixteens. Arthur and Francis already left to go do some shopping for the day and made up some excuse to try and throw the boy of the scent but it didn't work. The two brothers were much smarter than that, despite Al's grades in school. "Hey Al? Turn it down sil vous plait? I can't hear myself read eh." Matthew was sitting on the couch with his feet propped on the cushions with his back against the arm. They had summer reading homework and Mattie felt he

Psycho-logy assignment - 1X could only wait for the rest of the class to fill in the empty seats. There were about ten chairs or so, and he was glad that there were so many. Tapping the side of his desk, he glanced at his wingman, the harpy on his left. Devon was struggling with getting his books and writing essentials out of his pack. Why his man had decided to sign up for this class, let alone without a special made quill or some other sort of writing tool, the vampire would not know.Psycho-logy assignment - 12 days ago in Short Stories More Like This

Melodia dos RevoltososAs pessoas muitas vezes duvidavam da força do caráter de Dorea Black. Reconnecting Burns I make my way towards the smallest cart at the end of the train. I peek in the last train car and see neutral slate colors coat the metal walls. It's cold but . . . welcoming - just like it should be. Stepping fully into the cart I make my way to a seat towards the back. No one else occupies the space, but I feel better the farther away from the door I am. The unrememberable-colored seats are uncomfortable, but I don't expect much else from a train. I fidget in my seat, trying to find a comfortable position for the long trek ahead of me. I turn my head to look out the window. The scenes blur past and my eyes are struggling to keep up with each shade of green.Reconnecting Burns2 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
Loud noises break the barrier of my soundless haven and filter into my ears. I turn my head forward to see a little girl struggling to close the metal door of the train cart. She turns around and scans the cart, her head swiveling left and right. Her dark springy curls moving with her eyes. Her gaze passes me once

Jeff opened his tired eyes and looked around. The room was barely lit by light poking through the slats in the blinds that covererd the enormous sliding glass door. There was a black coffee table and a black leather couch underneath him. Infringe of him stood a towering television and behid he could see a large wood table with matching chairs. Jeffrey's gaze shifted to the right where a tall man stood looking down on him.
Jeff couldn't see his features but recognized the bulk of his boyfriends muscular arms. Just then one of the arms reached out and pulled on a light switch beh
