The Hexagon #9All For One Part 5
Zenith Woman's POV
"Zyxtullwyn!" I cry out in horror. "Phyryndul!"
I watch on, wounded from battling Rizlagon troops, as two of my sisters, Zyxtullwyn and Phyryndul, fire off massive sonic blasts from their lungs. Sure enough, they send a squad of Rizlagon sailing all the way through a nearby tower. Unfortunately, the worst of them, a yellow-green scaled Rizlagon known all too well to my people, is still able to stand his ground.
I hear the two scream at me to get in the pod behind me, to get out of here and get as far away as I can. I just stare at them, begging them not to go through with this with my eyes, but their minds are set. They're warriors, after all. And so, blinking the tears back, I summon what strength I have and leap into the pod, punching in the commands to fly up and away.

How did I manage to be sitting on my bed, holding a very much dead carnation in my palm, looking out the window at the trees and greenery?

It existed. The only surety a consciousness can claim, the claim itself being the only evidence required. It felt, also. Though not through any appendage or receptor. The latter implying localised intake and the former implying dimensions to support structure. Neither of which have any sense or meaning as a fundamental aspect of a non-physical essence, whose worldly manifestations are defined solely by the context which generated them. Preface

It was dark beneath the forest canopy, dark and still. The view to the sky above was blocked by countless leaves, a green crosshatch of many shapes and sizes flung from supporting pillars made invisible to those on the ground by the impenetrable press of foliage on all sides. 

What little light there was seemed to come from everywhere at once, as if the clustering leaves split the rays from above like a multifaceted prism so that each appeared to glow in the gloom with a tiny fraction of the refracted radiance. Tales of Triluthia, no1 p1November the 3rd, 20x13

It has been a very long time, and my research has only begun. Three months I've waited for this breakthrough, three months! And how my hands tingle in the excitement. Our world has survived on the knowledge of the ancients, without fully knowing anything about them, yet after three months, I've found something that surely contains that which I've been looking for.

Better be careful now, I don't want anything happening to this source, it's supposed to be from a time before the crosses, think of that! The crosses each last a hundred years, and this being the 13th year of the 20th cross... but I digress.
