Remember me? I touched the sky
I flew too hard and burned too fast
Dreams like mine, they just don't last
I touched the sun on feathered limbs
I satisfied my wildest whims
But I burnt out, and I fell down
My body wasn't ever found
But don't remember me for how I failed
I embody all the dreams that've sailed
So who are you, and what am I?
Remember me? I wasn't afraid to fly.

Death is a GentlemanDo I have a reason to fear Death?Death is a Gentleman4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
He is kind and he's quiet,
He listens as well;
He'll drive you to Heaven,
He'll cart you to Hell.
His vest is embroidered
With little white curls
He puts flowers in His pockets
Which He gives to the girls.
He likes to eat chocolate,
(Or so I've heard)
And He keeps in a cage
a little pet bird.
His skeletal horses
Always look proper;
His wine is uncorked
and untouched by the stopper.
His shoes are so polished
You can see yourself in them,
His laces are always tied
Just below His pant hem.
His bones are quite sturdy
And never look brittle;
In fact, I have heard
He quite likes to whittle.

Once again all alone
I suppose I must deserve it
I'm clingy and annoying
Obnoxious and dense
Rash and silly
Lazy and obsessive
Sometimes I hate myself
I want to draw people in
But only push them away
I cry so much lately
Because everything hurts
Maybe I'm not meant to be happy
I force my smile
I fake my laugh
Does anyone notice?
Does anyone care?
It's not "Like Me" to be so
Depressed? Upset? Angry?
What is 'like me'?
Someone tell me
Because I don't know myself anymore
Once again, as before
I'm all alone

Beauty can be a thing you like.

Barefoot Today I ran barefoot. It's the only way to run. You don't know freedom until you've run without shoes. Without soles weighing you down. Or laces tying you back. Run without inhibitions.Barefoot4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
Today I ran down hills and across busy streets. Feet pounding against hot asphalt. Running through cool, damp, grass. Balancing on curbs. And jogging along walls .
Today I ran down crowded sidewalks, shoes in hand, not returning glances. Silent questions hang heavy in the air. They watch me as I make my way down the street. I zig-zag past trash bins and over recycle bins. The hurdles of city life.

Description of a PoemThoughts on paper,Description of a Poem6 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
Emotions in ink.
Verse that shows
What the artist may think.
Not just words
That rhyme or not.
It's a writer's emotion,
Their deepest thought.
To write great poetry
So deep and true,
It must come from emotions
Deep inside of you.
What you feel is what you write.
It helps to let it all out.
It's the perfect outlet
For those who don't scream and shout.
Do not be afraid
To let the world know.
Say what you think,
And let your emotions go.

Pixie Dust and Fairy TalesLife is not always rainbows,Pixie Dust and Fairy Tales4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
With pots of gold to be found,
Life is often madness,
In which we can only drown
Life is not perfect,
It forces us often to our knees,
Life is like candy,
It is sometimes bittersweet
Life is not always wonderful,
So many things can go wrong,
But it can be so, so beautiful,
With a joyous, radiant song
Life can leave us angry,
Leave us bitter, leave us worn,
And with so many paths to choose,
Sometimes we feel torn
Life has no magic pixie dust,
To make all things right,
And so we lose ourselves in fairy tales,
To ward away our fright
Life should be about living,
But sometimes it's passion is deni

A Great Artist is not someone who gets the Attention
It is not about the Shock and Awe
What really does it mean to be a great artist?
The Answer is within Every Person's Creations
Putting the most Effort into every piece of art
The Determination to never give up
To be Honest and Hard Working
Practice to amplify ones Ability
A great artists is more then Pencil and Paper
It takes Heart, Determination, and Pride
To put a whole being into the art
To work beyond the limits of what they were told
Taking time to give friendly Critique
Learning how to Improve Ones Skill
To be a part of the Community

A Soul's PassingPlace me not, within this groundA Soul's Passing4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
To hear no more, a mortal sound
Encumbered by earth, a twisted soul
Covered by death, in this devils hole
I scream, I cry, to no avail
A pity screech, a desperate wail
In this wretched place I be
No more to hear, no more to see
All mourners turn and walk away
Interned in darkness and forced to stay
This knoll is now my resting place
Dried tears are etched upon my face
Six feet under is now my home
No more to wander, no more to roam
A stone is laid upon my head
My body blanketed with a flower bed
Please visit me, although I'm gone
Our bodies wither, but the soul lives on

A touch, a taste, when lips will meet
A sound, a song, a tune to sing
Such beauty will our senses bring
The mind accepts where the heart will lead
And follows once we plant the seed
Of love and trust and patience made
To build upon the plans being laid
An innocence nurtured so fresh and new
As pure and eager as morning dew
To greet with joy the rising sun
The birth of life has just begun
A word, a smile, a sound we make
The touch of souls of which we take
A moment in time for memories seen
Of who we are to where we've been
In life and love we'll j

Will give as it takes
A moment of pleasure and pain
The warmth of the sun
To rise and be done
Setting scenes that forever remain
To sigh and to breathe
Is destined to leave
Creating a gap in lives to be had
Shedding a tear
and lost in our fear
Blaming regrets on why we are sad
Breaking a heart
Then tearing apart
The solace in which we are placed
Clawing our skin
To begin yet again
Begging for love in ultimate haste
Take pity on me
See more than you see
Give me courage to keep moving on
It is but a game
To lay all the blame
On love that is broken and gone
Shaking my head
Of lost faith and dread

Our life, as it is, could be gone
As strong is my heart, it could still fall apart
And here I could stand all alone
The sky although blue, has a darkening hue
And will rain with so many tears
The smile on my face, leaves a sneer in its place
Still hiding my stifling fears
Flowers will not bloom, in a closeted room
For the light is needed to grow
Though memories so dark and feelings are stark
On the winds of change, they do blow
You see I do feel, what once was so real
But is gone, as the days do end
Love me please as I sing, like a

Of fire and dew, blood-red
And pure white. In my dreams
I have the confidence to love my body,
But this is dream-shown in the way I flaunt it
And in the way They want it
As They want others. I am
Not the stunted one, second-best with the speech impediment.
I do not compete endlessly with those
Of the bee-stung lips, fragile bones sliding
Smoothly under untainted skin. My dragons and I,
We soar through clouds made of the souls lost
To the soul-less. Our sun is hidden beyond
The mountains in the distance. Those tall towers
With words carved into them,
Words I cannot read from this distance. We

TortureSometimes torture is physical,Torture6 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
It is being pinned against the wall by the bully,
It is being spat on. It is being laughed at.
It is going home and washing the rotten food out of your hair
And the tears from your face.
Sometimes torture is emotional,
It is being ignored by your family,
It is being used by your friends. It is abuse.
It is curling up in bed at night and crying into your pillow
To muffle the sound.
Sometimes torture is mental.
It is self-inflicted and ties you in knots,
It is insanity. It is fear.
It is running when you have nowhere to go and hiding
Behind something that won't cover you.
All torture is pain.

Stupid Poem!
Arrg you! first of all know this,
I never wanted to write this thing.
As far as Im concerned,
Id rather be off alone training.
But unfortunately for me,
I owe your friend a favor.
That arrogant little fool,
Even said to watch my behavior.
Well you should know right now,
Thats not going to happen friend.
Youre going to end up dead,
When I finally stab you with this pen!
And not only will I stab you,
Ill blast you with all that Ive got!
Still with my amazingly rotten luck,
Ill be stopped by that idiot Kakarot.

AbusedDaddy hits,Abused5 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
Mommy screams,
Brother stabs,
And Sissy cleans.
And soon as shes done,
It starts all over again,
Guns are shot,
And you bleed,
You cant trust anyone it seems.
Youll go to the hospital,
Theyll mend your heart,
But when you come home,
It will fall apart.
You never even have time to go to the bathroom,
Or enjoy the life youve been given,
Because as soon as you walk through the door,
The torture starts,
And youre falling apart.
Someday it will end,
Your broken heart shall be mend,
Theyll pay for the pain caused,
And you will not be abused anymore.

Hope Eternal..Look in the mirror, what do I seeHope Eternal..4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
Staring right in front of me
A body with no where to go
Pain so raw, a need to know
Time is fleeting, gone so fast
Wanting more, it will not last
A second, a minute or just a day
A month, a year or come what may
Joy is found and then is gone
A memory made within a song
We see, we saw and then is spent
A glimpse in life is all that's meant
Place the sun, the wind and rain
Within your senses to play again
To feel and touch and be as one
No day complete unless it's done
Feel the love there is to give
Without of which we cannot live
Needed like a breath of air
It's truest form, so very ra

I'll hide, try and find me if you care
You ask the questions and I'll dodge around the answers
Cat and mouse, catch me if you can
It's a dance really, back and forth we will flit about
Never settling in one spot too long
We've danced this dance so many times, know every move
Each step is so carefully placed
It's a song you know, each of us a different note
Each just another chord on the guitar
It's when the notes come together that the magic happens
They're no longer a sound but music

Sweet SurrenderSweet Surrender5 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
A touch as soft as an Angels sigh
Caresses as pure as heart and soul
Sweet surrender with trust and no foreboding
Ever-lasting tenderness a gift so precious and rare
Warm lips and gentle fingertips
A life in the palm of one's hand
The Past placed in a memory box
filled with softness, smiles and tears
The Present written on pages of sunshine, the wind and rain
The Future seen in Dreams with anticipation, pure wonder and Hope
Wanting and needing but forever seeking
The secrets of what lies ahead
Temptations placed along the path
Of life and death and dread
Struggling with the fear of failing and feeling way too much

Moments PassedMoments Passed4 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
In summer's ray or Winter's breeze
Gives me hopes of which to seize
For I believe, I am left behind
Once so lost, but now to find
A place to feel that I belong
To hum in praise, a bird's sweet song
My life, it seems is at its end
A tree in wind, will always bend
The sun will give us warmth and light
but still it sleeps in dead of night
My time has given memories sweet
To those I love and chanced to meet
We fade in shadows, to those who grow
Once forgotten, as we did know
That time is fair but often cruel
To those who treat life as a fool
Regret and misery, in moments passed
Go yet more swiftly, and much too fast

Cry not for the flower that once was
Or the way of nature or just because
For you see it is this life we seize
Our aim to be or just to please
The struggle of each day that comes
So hard or simple is the bee that hums
His tune as he works all day
We fight within to find our way
I know it has been said before
That how we live defines our core
Our very being is who we are
As sure that near is just as far
We laugh and cry and often say
That life is better when we pray
For all the others and not for us
To learn to give and share the trust
We need to see and not be blind
Of what is pure and who is kind
To give in moments when
