A Poem about PoemsToo many times,A Poem about Poems15 hours ago in Free Verse
when I read people's poetry,
They're filled with hate, resentment,
instead of joy and glee.
There are so many things,
That are utterly wonderful,
Flora, fauna, friends, love,
These things so cherishable.
Is there really this much saddness,
Contained within each person's heart?
Or are these poems just attempts,
At appearing clever and smart?
But alas, I may not,
Ever find out the answer to this,
But just try and go, to be happy,
This is my only wish.

AutumnYou said ‘paint me a scene of golden leavesAutumn4 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
stroked across a sky of cheerful blue.’
I grab my brush and pull out my easel
to stare out at this autumn canopy.
Crackled golden leaves turn to
a blanket of colorful Julia Heliconians stretched
beneath layers of sapphire calendula wings.
Old oak trees seal their sap
a hidden splendor within dried up bark
renewed by relentless rain,
silent leafhoppers dine on its hidden treasure,
locked within a timeless old tree.
I fill in the gaps, paint colors to the leaves with feathers,
entwine the life of the oak within the insects it feeds.
The sky is a haven of indigo crests that soar effortl

is the hue
of cotton clouds like fluff
of teeth strong and tough
of milk, smooth and buff
of wool, soft yet rough.
White
is the tone
of smoke in the air
of the sun's harsh glare
of the old man's hair
of uncaring despair.
White
is the colour
of the surgical room
of a poisoned mushroom
of ash in a tomb
of impending doom.

EarthI think earthEarth7 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Should be a triangle
not a four sided triangle
or a star
I think earth should be
a star
As if the one's in the
sky and the earth
were one together
I'd like that

A Gaze From the SkyCloak yourself in the fading lightA Gaze From the Sky10 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Wrap yourself in the tawny gaze of the dusk
That sinks into your feverish skin
That burns away at your grasp on my hand
Try to tolerate that alluring cold breath on your neck
Swept down your spine by the soothing
Stony wind
Wash this world to color
Hold onto hope
Stroke what's left of the evening,
Because we're glued to the sky's gloaming
Slip down past the dim murky silhouettes,
Thrown across the earth by a smoky hearth
Smother the grainy shadows that run
Across the sky
That leave you breathless as you stand in the sepia
Awaiting the trace of a whisper
To awaken the dawn
To search those blinding eyes

The lonely treeThe lonely treeThe lonely tree11 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
The big tree on top of the hill
A big oak tree stands lonely on top the hill
The oak tree is swaying in the wind
Squirrels climb up the big oak tree
The oak tree is a home
The tree is changing colors
The tree get struck by lighting
The dying tree decays on top of the hill
The dying tree cries in the wind
The tree is cut down
The men in orange cut the tree down
The lonely tree is no more
The big oak tree is gone

Four Parts of Mehow long do the chains hold meFour Parts of Me13 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
in this place - both sterile and empty of human feeling
stretched out atop a clear table made from hard plastics
arms and legs stretched at angles that now make me numb
hands and feet encased in lucite blocks of transparent materials
left hand releases water which trickles through holes made in my fingers by sharp tools
right hand flashes and pops with the heat of light that turns to smoke and ash
leg on left side feels the breeze of winds sucked through tubes - small comfort it brings me
right leg dries and crumbles and falls in light patters - little trees scream as they're uprooted and die
such a sorry state

PetalsPetals scatterPetals16 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
In the wind,
Flutter down
To cold ground,
Only to
Be lifted again,
Flying away
Into the distance,
Unknown things
That might lurk
Wishing to
Be rid of
The sweet
Smell of petals
Dancing in
The gentle wind.

I know the meaning of life! LiI know the meaning of life! Life has only one meaning. No, it's not to reproduce. No, it's not to enjoy yourself. You exist, so everything else can exist! If a rat in the sewers wasn't born right NOW as you read this, nothing would exist! We're here to exist so every thing else CAN exist!I know the meaning of life! the spiderweb curtain of haze hung
sweet and cloying
sweet and cloying
my eyes stang
.
today
the diamond edge of wind whips
back and forth
back and forth
(i cry)
.
tomorrow
rubies made of sunset will adorn thirteen stone angels
faces frozen in a grimace
(the truth is hard
but it is the truth)

early in the morning.i don’t like sleepless nights, but i love early in the morning;early in the morning.4 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
when the sun hasn't quite started showing, but the sky is getting lighter.
it’s quiet, the air is cool and the grass is wet from dew.
and there’s a smell.
i don’t really know what it is, but it’s so fresh and clean;
the start of a brand new day.

Twenty-SeventhA dry wind, an ice windTwenty-Seventh6 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Pulls with frozen fingers
Through January birches
A soft moan, a cold home
Pushes icy tangles
From branches falls and dangles
Ice-filmed pines, moon-seared eyes
Blaze 'neath crystal hair
Glinting in the brilliant air
Wind-chapped cheeks, yet warmth they keep
As chill-bit lips fall soft
Touching skin both long and oft
A deep cold, an ancient cold
Pooled in cisterns in the deep
Through spider cracks glint and weep
Brevity's dance, a swift romance
Calling ancient waters forth
From springs 'neath Iceland, Norway, Borth

A Dip in the PoolThe feeling of the sunA Dip in the Pool9 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Shining upon me
Darkening my skin
While lightening my hair
The not too cool
But not too warm
Water slowly beads off my skin
I am free and
I can just enjoy myself
Swimming back and forth
Enjoying the weightlessness
Of it all
As I just lay back
And close my eyes
Drifting back towards the side
So serene, so peaceful
Won't you join me?

Rain part IIWalking outsideRain part II13 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
In the rain
Getting drenched through my clothes
With no one around me
Im just isolated--alone in the streets
Liquid therapy dropping through the tips of my pores
Sweeping all of the blood of my sins and sores
The rain pounding more and more
I feel the nightmares melt a I close my eyes
I hear the angels singing lullabies from the sky
My tears are invisible as I cry
Stress dissapating off my skin
Just me in the monsoon den
Im starting to feel my life begin
A rainbow sprouts and the rain ends
...Tunc venit tibi
... Duis te liberatus sum.

carried upward by the wind;
ablaze against the blackness of the sky
that holds their wanted sisters,
seeming infinite in their homes.
Climbing with one breath,
only to be choked by ebony talons
and fall back to ground, forsaken.
Their resplendent mother looks on,
watching helplessly as her ochre children turn to ash
and weeping torrid tears.
