by Alice the Gypsy Dove
It's raining now
The rain is slow and slanting
it hits me cold, like ice
but becomes too warm for rain
by the time it drips from my face
to fall on the ground and shatter
like little silver shards
cascading by my feet
I used to love the rain
I would lift my face when it fell
pouring from the heavens
and laugh and dance among the drops
treating each one as a friend
and showing a side of me unknown to others
my heart would sing out ringing
its voice harmonizing with each graceling drop
But that's gone now
Ever since that night I danced
the moonlight casting everything in silver

I'm sorry I'M SORRYI'm sorry2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I'm sorry for the words I've said
The rumors I've spread
The life I've led
I wish I could take it all back
To get back on track
To show the love I lack
Where my heart ought to be
There's only a gap
Where a strong heartbeat should be
There is only a tap tap .. tap .
But today is the day that that all will end
And to help you, backwards my back will bend
I will show you the love
That I once lacked
The words I've said, so mean, so cruel
Won't be recalled
But these words anew
Are words for you
I love you, I really do
I love the way you look
And the kind things you do
Your laugh so nic

The day runs
beneath dreams hung on the hooks

Where creeping through a

foreboding as its silence.
Where soft whispers snag

out their secrets.
A twig snaps-
you are not alone this pale evening.
The day runs with you.

The shiny pools take in the tide.
Were once lay you and also me,
A vast domain both blue and wide.
Ivory clouds enshroud our sea,
A tomb I thought to hold, to hide.
Were once with you (I'll always be),
Beneath the waves, enwrapped abide.
Foamy flotsam wafts on our sea,
Above this surf, the seagulls glide.
I fly for you and you for me,
At last we've set our souls aside.
A painted sunset fades our sea,
The crashing waves at last subside.
I am with you and you with me,
A sandy tomb, my ocean bride.

Lampyrid twinklers of

Slender pale of ivory

slipping under the gems

Holding fast to what I

from wide knowing eyes
breathing softly, a pleasing fragrance.

How is it supposed to feel? How is it supposed to feelHow is it supposed to feel?2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
When you tell somebody you love them?
Isn't your heart supposed to beat faster
And you feel like it will fly out of your chest
Straight into the other person's arms?
Shouldn't the world stop,
And the only two people who matter
Are you
And the one you love?
Shouldn't the words
" I love you"
hang shining in the air?
Shouldn't you be able to look into the others eyes
And see your self
Because you are their mind
Body
And soul?
Shouldn't you feel like their heartbeat is yours
Beating together
And that's why it stopped
when they first said
' I love you'?
what about the butterflies,

Lesson LearnedI have kept the bridle on too long,Lesson Learned2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
My voice is raspy and gnarled with un-use.
Words used to spill like a fountain overrun,
How long will it take for my tongue to unloose.
Others pleasure and comfort,
Has always been my only goal.
even if my pain was the cost,
I'd more than gladly pay the toll.
Who deemed me so unworthy,
Of thought, opinion, and attraction?
These chains make me bruise and bleed,
There must be change - I must take action!
For so long I've fought for others,
While my heart and soul were battered.
Wounds deep and festering now,
Beneath this pain, I'm totally shattered.
I am locked away,
Yet I alone hold the key.

Sigo estando sigo viviendo
Lloré en un principio
Sus rostros sonrientes
La música, el olor a comida
Los gritos
¿Cómo saber cuando es tiempo para irme?
Nunca deje de ser yo
Tal vez cambie de nombre
¿Pero para que sirve el nombre?

A truth that blasts around you like the wind
There are tears that need to be cried
and stories left unheard
and people you forget to meet
because you're scared of leaving someone new
with the feeling that you opened them
but you can close them back up
an opened box is opened
and there's a feeling that strides through you
like the day is shutting down.

Gypsy QueenShe was a young one, that gypsy queen of mine,Gypsy Queen2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
She wore no crown on her head,
No shoes on her feet.
She danced to the moonlight
And never let it go,
Her movements like water,
Seductive and slow.
She loved all with her gentle hands,
Her gentle heart of stone.
She traveled all around to foreign lands,
Keeping me wrapped around her finger.
She was never one to linger once she was seen.
At least when I knew her, the young gypsy queen.
She held her music as gently as a wounded bird in hand,
But was never one to stand,
Weakness.
For she was a strong one as you can see,
My beautiful gypsy queen.
This is a tale of love,

Gypsy girl,
Your mind spins and whirls.
Off again you set,
Haven't found a home just yet.
Your beauty speaks of earth and sun,
But your heart has yet to be won.
For no man, you see,
Can ever tame the magnificent beast.
Your heart that yearns,
For new things to learn.
Gypsy girl,
Gypsy girl,
You dance and sing,
Smile and teach,
Love and wisdom is what you preach,
But still its love that will always be out of your reach.
Where will you go now?
For we all know to a husband you'll never bow.
You like to plant your roots,
But none have proved to be deep enough to hold you.

Lively like the Earth and fiery as the sun.

Gypsy boy so free, and your heart unharderned.
Going wherever you please, born to wander,
You're the Roma boy born to travel yonder.
Dance, Gypsy boy, dance, turn forever,
Your love is a never ending endeavor,
A journey too great for someone like me
To make and win you over successfully.
I'll always love you, more than you'll ever know.
Dark skinned, delightful in its own magnificent shadow.
I can't ask you to stay, lover of music and life.
I have seen your past, your pain, and your strif

Please, Gypsy, please tell me what lies ahead
Tell me about her, yes, her,
Tell me where she leads
Gypsy, it's so confusing
Just tell me how it goes, as I don't have the heart
To carry on the split ends
I beg you, mysterious Gypsy, I don't know who I am
Flash forward five years,
Just to see if I'll be dead.

The vast ocean of guilt encircles
a desert of anxieties.
Literally beaten down I've been
taught that my opinions don't matter.
To my horror, I am starting to

I strive for the smiles of others
but when I get them, they are fleeting.
I work to the crippling standards imposed
by me for them to see.

What makes me happy? and will my

Who wrote the map of my life? Could they
please write a footnote for me to get off?

I don't believe in dating

that I don't believe in relationships
not structured well by emotion.
I don't approve of couples
that take a day to form
and an hour to break up
and two days to have sex
and break up because
the girl gets pregnant.
I do not approve.
But I want a love so bad in my life.
I want him tall and kind and teaching

Beauty comes in many forms
The best way to draw upon the inner kind
Is to find what makes you happy
Makes you who you are
Hopes dashed and left on the corner
She took her dreams and
Ran
She left her past behind and followed
her inner passion
Following her self-made path
she discovered new life growth and joy
Always considered ugly, not perfect enough,
the opposite of what was expected
She discovered the well of beauty inside her
Tentative at first she soon grew to drawing from

In a healthier form of addiction than she was used to
She has made her own successes
fallen down at times
But she got right back up and began anew
Strength is what she exudes
And the beauty of life is her drink
So far is she from her past
It feels like a different time
The time of life-ending thoughts
never-ending loneliness
lost in a world where she was invisible

which were many:

She has begun anew
