It was Sunday, and I sat in the back
Of the sanctuary
I take out my sketchbook
Without hesitation
And begin to draw as I pleased.
Then all of a sudden, I have a visitor
Come sit next to me.
He looked just like him
With me hoping that he were the same person
And this not a dream
But he looked like him
And my heart began to race.
I continued sketching
With a red pencil,
Glancing at times to study his face,
Concentrated, appreciative and kind,
And I saw
Without him noticing.
I went on with my work
And I felt the red deer I drew come to life.
Does and bucks so swiftly drawn,
Their graceful figures
Fascinating to his bright eyes.
Soon enough, this illusion ended
With the wake of dawn,
Leaving me
Hoping that we were the doe and the buck.

Run With DeerWhat to fear?Run With Deer1 day ago in Free Verse More Like This
Truth never lies;
So you run with deer.
Leaping over boulder and ditch,
Letting your spirit fly.
Lunging over stream and fish,
So much joy you can't even cry.
So much for being afraid.
Losing yourself among the trees.
You jump; your penalty is paid.
You fall among the leaves.
Your body crunches the leaves-
Your eyes close for a split second-
And then you leap away.

The man stood in the tree’s shadow, his eyes focused on the injured deer at the edge of the herd. Taking a deep breath, he drew his bow, arrow notched. Bringing his hand to his check, he looked down the line of the arrow at the deer. Adjusting slowly he released his breath and the arrow.
The arrow flew straight toward its target. And was about to hit it when the Wind came. Straight up from the ground, it hit the arrow and knocked it up into the air. The deer stood there and turned its head toward the man. Its eyes were solid white.
Realizing his mistake, the man turned and fled. He had attack

The pain was excruciating. Maeve had been told it would be terrible but she had never expected this. She dearly wished she had someone to help but she knew she had to do it on her own. After what seemed like ages she gave her final push and a new life was welcomed into the world.
"Hello, Laurë," she whispered cleaning the small chestnut fawn off. Simba was right, she wasn't like her father. "Thank Gaelach."

"Don't go," Marianne pleaded, her voice soft.
Phalen appraised her from where he stood near the door.
She was standing near an open window. The moon was vaguely visible outside, partly obscured by clouds, its soft luminescence teasing them with its light. The flickering effects of several sconces illuminated the room. They gave the thick, black robe that Marianne was wearing a hazy, golden sheen. Her long, sleek black hair flowed down past her shoulders in a messy array.
Phalen knew she had probably been rudely woken and rushed towards the room they were in now. The loose, cream colored chemise she wore underneath looked almost the same co

The next morning, Phalen and Stanley made their way downstairs to break their fast. As they sat down, Phalen noticed a couple of men looking in their direction. They seemed to be annoyed by something, but what he wasn't quite sure.
"I wonder what the man's trading to go to Haypool with all the chatter going on," Stanley said, scratching his chin.
"Probably something important for some official. Notes, a picture, who knows? Does it really matter?" Phalen said.
"I guess not, though if it's overflowing with gold, that would attract unwanted attention."
"Indeed."
The room was getting more crowded as they ate. The group of men that Phalen not

She sees a wonderful land, filled with an overwhelming feeling of acceptance.
She loves this untouchable world, and wishes she could stay here forever.
But she feels a shallow pit in her heart, a dark place that has not been filled.
The land in front of her is a fantasy, a mere mockery of what true happiness could be.
It feels as though happiness is not even possible now, perhaps it would stay like this forever.
But through the window, she can see a figure in the distance. Another window.
Someone stares through their end of the world, looking toward the girl.
Their windows seem to

You wake up in a hospital.
At first, you don't realize you're in a hospital; you just think the power's gone out. It's dark -- pitch black -- and you can't see a thing.
You ask about him.
"Who?" they ask. "What are you talking about? There was no one with you." A nurse tells you that you were found unconscious in the woods behind the factory and that your blindness was most likely a result of head-trauma, to which you reply that your head feels fine. It was him.
He stole your eyesight.

Of course, they don't believe you. Again, the nurse blames "head-trauma" for your "delusions," but you know wh

The Chicken CoopI was four years old when it happened,The Chicken Coop2 weeks ago in Free Verse More Like This
Four years old and ignorant of the world and all its horrors.
I was innocently exploring when I came across a little house.
I heard a tremendous murmur.
The wild din terrified but intrigued me
And I curiously made my way inside
To find a coop of fat and playful hens chattering.
They were oblivious or perhaps indifferent to me at first
So closer and closer I scooted,
Closer and closer to the hens
And closer and closer to a bitter realisation.
Then, suddenly they caught me,
They attacked me and brought me to the cold, hard ground,
Pecking me with their malicious beaks
And stabbing me with their icy glares.

SeekingSilver glass; darkened corridors; white robes. These are things I remember distinctly. The woman - the tall woman, with the glasses and the sharp eyes and the suit - spoke to us, giving us a very brief analogy of our present situation, and then we were led away down the hallway, through a door, and into semi-darkness.Seeking2 weeks ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
I recall distinctly every emotion that ran through me in those moments - these, and the physical things, too. I remember, for instance, that Carel was looking around, and that his dark hair was ruffled up at the back, like he'd been running his hands through it. For memory's of petals I forever keep.
Thoughts of rose hushed petals blown ever asunder.
As I the victor, watch ever in wonder.
