Reasons I'm Happy to be Getting Divorced: #3 You can't be in a marriage with someone that screams at you until you go into a panic attack on a regular basis without feeling unappreciated. Having the closest person to me in my life refuse to read my writing and even tell me he would get angry when he did because all it did was remind him the time I could have spent cleaning the house definitely added to that. There are so many things I became insecure about, and I hate that I still have to fight against it. I'm grateful that that fight is getting easier, and a good chunk of that is because of the people that I've been surrounding myself with these last several months.Reasons I'm Happy to be Getting Divorced: #314 hours ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This

Chapter 1: Dream One "But Dad, I don’t want to go to a submersible military institute. I want to fly an Arwing!" Triple Treat's sparkling orange eyes looked desperately at his father, who had been literally shoving the small beige sheet into his face all this morning. Drake Typhoon exhaled noisily. "Triple, this is what you were born to do. I was the leader of a great flight team and your grandfather was the leader of the very same great flight team. I don’t want to force you into anything that you want to do, son. But this is your future."Chapter 1: Dream One1 day ago in Short Stories More Like This
"If it's my future, then why don’t I want nothing to do with it?" all Drake could do was shake his head. No matter how much he had implored, his son remained obstinate in his choice. He placed the paper down on the cautiously prearranged writing table and left. Triple turned around as his door had shut."I want to be an Arwing pilot, not someone who controls a silly submersible, I don’t know how to pilot, but I'm great at flying

Nihilist: Chapter Five Already, a sweat broke across my forehead and dampened my underarms. The furnace that lingered on the secret third floor scalded me beneath the jacket I’d worn. I slipped through its arms, draped it over the back of my awkward chair, and sat. No time to ponder; I immediately lunged at the keyboard and battled back an exhilaration like I hadn’t known for years. Who knew that the answer would be so simple, so accessible? God, how I loved my job.Nihilist: Chapter Five2 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Natalia Voren, History of the Twenty-First Century, Chapter Three: Eurasia – The Fall of Russia and the Rise of Europe
It is important, before moving on to consider the downfall of Smythe, to deal with the history of the rising superpower, the European Union, which in the twentieth century had been a free trade area as well as an opponent to the intra-European conflict that had dominated the first half of that century. By the beginning of the twenty-first, it was consolidating its power, with a series of treaties that gave its parliament and council oversight over individual nations’ law making. To join the union was cons

PretendingRook was always good at pretending. As a child he had always had a vivid imagination, and excelled at pretend games. While he was good at sports, he preferred pretend. The Revonnahgander had never been particularly interested in video games as a child, which frustrated his parents to no end. The child had always been wrapped up in his fantasy worlds, shutting out other people to fight aliens and ride dragons in his imagination. At the tender age of five he created his first imaginary friend named Benjamin, or Ben for short. His friend had brown hair, an green eyes, and from what Rook understood of how he looked he was a human. The young RevonPretending3 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Outcast: South Italy RomanoThere are those who say something that has been broken cannot be mended. Does that mean they have attempted to fix what was wrecked, or did they simply abandon the pieces to wither in the forces of nature and scatter towards the far ends of the earth with each passing wind? Even something that has been shattered can be healed to some extent, though it may not hold the full magnitude, or perhaps the more effective term is glimmer, of its original beauty and grace.Outcast: South Italy Romano3 days ago in Short Stories More Like This

The woods. A dark, haunting, lonely type of place. But standing next to someone else, someone with frost-white hair and icy blue eyes, hand-in-hand, shoulder-to-shoulder- someone you barely know, but feel like you do- everything drifts away. Everything around you, even the place where you stand, seems to fade away, leaving you and him, just you and Jack, the only people in the forest, the only people in the whole world. It's perfect, you think. I'm not afraid anymore. Is that- is that even possible?
Your footsteps slow to match his pace. You have arrived at a inexistent place, something much like a fantasy world. Rain battered the windows, forming thin streams as gravity took hold. The pounding of the rain, meant nothing to the man inside. He sat hunched over a warm mug of coffee. The barista had even taken the time to draw a kitten in the foam. A far back corner of his mind, thought it was sweet, but it couldn’t compare to the gloom surrounding him.
Four jobs in as many months and he’d been laid off of each one. He had done nothing wrong, but it was making new employers suspicious any way. He barely had enough in his account to pay that month’s bills. He sighed and took a sip of the coffee. It was bitter even with the milk. He liked it that way, but today it just made him more depressed. He considered adding sugar, but decided against it. Something sweet right now would be out of place. He was lucky enough to know the owner of the café, and had convinced him to allow a tab. He was supposed t

"Of course! I do a lot of my work here," Xavier said. And by work he meant eavesdropping on conversations, listening for anything of note, and logging it away in the recording device tucked into his ear, hidden by his hair. However on this day, his ear was free to hear anything it chose without recording, as he slipped off his jacket to put on the back of his chair. "I'm a regular, they know what I like so early in the morning."
Speak of the devil, and a young waitress appeared with a mug of hot chocolate for Xavier and a spoon. She cast a curious glance to his companion, who slowly lowered down into the chair diagonal from Xavier. "Anything for you, sir?" she asked with a smile.

Ezio walked close to Seona as the two turned down the winding streets. He seemed in a much calmer state once he was sure that Vieri wasn’t going to come back for seconds. Not now, anyway. As the two walked, Ezio stole curious glances at the young blonde. Her gaze occasionally met his, but she would silently look away after a second or two. He didn’t recall meeting hardly any girls who acted quite so reserved and quiet.
But perhaps it was because she couldn’t speak the language fluently yet, not having been in Florence for very long.

Noel and Note: Prolouge Story Part 1.I was always either alone or surrounded by friends who never accepted me. When I approached them, they just walked away. Metroid: Other M - ReviewAfter finishing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Nintendo Wii I thought to myself “I wonder if Metroid will always be like this on consoles and if the 2D style will only be used on handhelds?” I imagine that many people wondered or even expected the same thing. After all, the Prime sub-series wasn’t just fantastic, it had also more or less resurrected the franchise, pulling it back to the forefront of Nintendo’s first-party IPs. Carrying on with that formula would have made sense. In fact, there are still people who want to see a Metroid Prime 4 at some point.Metroid: Other M - Review6 days ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
When Metroid: Other M came along I was surprised that people were as excited about it as they were. I got that it was a new Metroid – and who wouldn’t be excited about Metroid? – but I had expected people to be somewhat disappointed at the return to the 2D formula instead of sticking with Prime’s 3D one. Still though, the game looked action-packed and excitin
