Pray For Oklahoma

In case you don't know, a HUGE tornado ripped through Oklahoma yesterday. It was a mile wide, holy schnitzel Knowing what it feels like to be surrounded by debris and belongings that were once yours, my heart goes out to them. (Most of you know where I live, I've dropped so many hints

) I know how freakin' SCARY hard rain and strong winds are, I was kinda... OUTSIDE when the Hurricane was approching the beach, running around, bringing chairs and other patio thingies inside. I knew I had a little time to bring in everything and get the heck outta there but if you hear one of those tornado sirens, YOU BETTER GET THE HECK INTO A STORM SHELTER HOLY MOTHER oF A KANO JUST DROP EVERYTHING AND RUN. (I actually thought Sandy wasn't going to be terrible, we had hurricane Irene the year before) And to think, most of the people who died or were injured were kids. In school. Without a storm shelter, most just hid in the hallway. I hope your prayers go to them, like you did last October/November after Hurricane Sandy (I hope you wished us well at least) But I hope you wish Oklahoma well, we're doing a lot better now ^^

Congrats to every graduate.

"I present to you the graduating class of XXXX!" -every principal in history

So, for me the last couple days have been filled with congratulating graduates of this year. My friends and especially one who has had the last couple years been tough on her. The end of our junior year she was diagnosed with cancer so she missed her senior year and had to finish it up this year. On Sunday, 5/19/2013, she graduated with her entire family (plus my mum and I) being there to see her walk across that stage. Another friend I know graduated early last semester at the end of December only she is now in Japan as an exchange student with one more month left. This year has also been the hardest on a lot of the people I knew. Someone I had only known for three years who graduated last year in 2012 never got to see our 'cancer friend' walk across that stage in person. Maybe wherever he is he did see her walk but not here on Earth. Either way~ I want to say I'm overjoyed for everyone I know who graduated this year. Look forward and grasp a future that you make using your own feet. Love the memories that you'll carry forever of people you met, places you went and the things you did. Try hard and aim high. You'll never get there without a bump or two in the road. Look for the thing that makes you happy, don't do something just cause everyone thinks you should. Now I was never a great student in high school, I didn't make valedictorian or the rung lower than that but in truth if I had and being one of few words most the times my speech would have been extremely short. It could have gone something like this.

"We're graduated! We're moving down a path we made of our own and the only one that can stop us is us. We 'chase the sun' in a way. SO! Let's chase our future, Class of 2012!"

This journal is kind of just spur of the moment. There's a picture I drew that goes as well but it's not done yet (lol). It's like our lives, it's on it's way to something amazing but only if it's worked at and made that way.
