So, as we know, there is a game series, where little anthropomorphic animals that are usually bigger than their normal counter-selves, going around fighting evil and saving the Earth, known as Sonic the Hedgehog. It started in 1991, and continues on today. After moving over to Nintendo, then later on Sony and Microsoft, it seems to have gotten a lot more popularity and fans. But however, did it attract good fans, or fans that would lead the entire fandom to doom? I’m sorry that might have been a bit too overdramatic.

Sadly, there is a lot of negativity that floats around this sort of fandom, in many sorts of ways. Over the years, many fans have grown tired and annoyed by changes that they move on to look for something else to play, perhaps, while some still stay and remain faithful. When that happens, then there aren’t that many older fans around, and more fans that are younger than 13, which are usually immature and can’t handle when others disagree with them. They might go into a flaming spree, and they get angry when people disagree with them, see.

It is quite noticeable, that while there are a lot of old and faithful fans, as well as the smart fans that like Sonic, unfortunately, perhaps less than 15% are in that range. The rest lies in a section in what I like to call “Corrupted Sonic Fans.”

While older fans do know that everyone has their own opinions, and that they should be respected, sometimes they tend to flame back anyways. It might just be that you’re in a bad mood. That’s understandable, but sometimes flames can cause the other user to flame back, and throw people in an endless loop of hate and hurtful language even after you’re no longer in a bad mood. Sometimes though, both users might apologize and settle their differences, and that would be a good way of handling it I guess.

Smarter users do handle respecting people’s opinions better than the others, and they might try making friends with people with different opinions. Such as a SonAmy supporter being friends with a SonSally supporter.

These kinds of fights seem to start from silly couplings, and just which characters one person likes or hates. Say that I like Sonic, but severely hate Shadow, what do you suppose happens? Suddenly, a bunch of 9 year old noobs send me PM’s that consists of flames such as “You suck for hating Shadow!” or “Ur stupid! Sonic’s the gay one!” and what’s with all the derogatory in this fandom. I always hear such comments as “Sonic’s gay!” when asked, “Why do you hate Sonic?” and I’m pretty sure they were saying, “He’s stupid.” Stop being stupid morons and making fun of people. I say to anyone who uses that excuse: “You’re just as bad as the homophobes out there, and you are stupid if you think using those kinds of words in that way is cool.” Seriously, it’s annoying when people use terms in a derogative way.

Then with couples, it just never ends. The most seems to come from SonAmy fans (Sonic and Amy). Then there is the constant fighting with Taiream fans (Tails and Cream) and Taimo fans (Tails and Cosmo). SonAmy fans now, tend to hate characters other people pair up with Sonic or Amy, such as Sally due to SonSally, Elise because of SonElise, Blaze for SonBlaze, and possibly Shadow for ShadAmy. They’re just silly couples, don’t go hating other characters because of a silly coupling some other person made. That’s the worst way you can hate a couple or a character. If you dislike a character, you’d better have a good reason to dislike them. Otherwise, people would classify you as a noob, or as I’d like to call it, “Corrupted Sonic Fans.” Come on; try it! It’s fun to say XD

As of now, I feel really bad for Cosmo. The main reason she’s hated are because she’s either a non-Canon character, or because of Taimo coupling. Now really, because of jerks being so insecure of their favorite coupling, and kill art of Cosmo, I just stopped supporting Taiream. Noobs tend to make everyone look bad.

With that being talked about, I can really see that there is a lot of hate that people can’t bottle up for this fandom. Look around dA, and look at all those hate clubs. Have you ever seen so many hate clubs before? Well I haven’t, quite a shame isn’t it? You don’t see Mario characters being hate so much, do you? Well, people might hate some of Nintendo’s characters also, but at least they keep it to themselves and don’t go crazy with the kill art. Now that’s a biggie for the Sonic fandom. Just about anywhere, I’ll see Sonic kill art. Usually is of Sonic himself. Now why are you hating on the character that started the entire series? Well Eggman and SonicTeam were there too, but you get what I mean. Sonic is the main character, and yet he seems to be the most hated character in the series. Why? Are Shadow fans just jealous he’s the main character and not Shadow? Well, I think kill art is rather immature, that’s why I rarely do kill art. People should keep their feelings to themselves. It hurts weak hearted fans to see their favorite character killed in so many horrible ways, and it sickens me so. I mean kill art, and those who go crazy with it because they hate that particular character, and they’re so insensitive to care about how others feel. They wouldn’t care if a Sonic fan asks them to stop or if a crazy girl wants to commit suicide after seeing their work, they just feel like making more, because they hate Sonic so much. I want to swat them, but look at me; do I look like the person that hits people? My character Alex might if he were real, but I likely wouldn’t. Ease up with the kill art, that’s not what fandom is supposed to be about. It’s not about Shadow shooting Sonic’s head off because he’s better or any of that stuff, it’s supposed to be about art that supports your favorite character, and even if you dislike a certain character, you can still draw them in a positive way anyways.

So far, what have we talked about? Derogative terms, silly hating over couples, kill art, and flaming because of different opinions. Doesn’t this all seem childish? I think we, as a community should really try to avoid doing these things. They really are pretty stupid and immature things to do. Are you new to Sonic, and are people being mean to you? Sadly, it seems most of the fandom is like this, and it truly does make the rest of us look bad and dull, just like them.

Let’s have a small overview with how the characters suffer.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Do I like him? Yeah, of course I do. He’s on the top of my list, because he’s just simply awesome. So how does he suffer? Let’s recap a few things.

He suffers from being recolored by a lot of fans. They are usually made with little effort at all. He also seems to be the most hated character in the franchise. Why? Is it because he’s the main character, and Shadow isn’t? I hardly see any reasons for hating Sonic that are actually true, or reasonable.

He suffers from couple extremists sometimes. I mean the SonAmy fans just won’t stop pairing him up with Amy. I have nothing against SonAmy and all, but it just gets too crazy sometimes. I mean they go completely ballistic at people whom disagree with them, or support SonicXSomeone else or AmyXSomeone else. Sonic also seems to be hated by people whom support ShadowXAmy. Wow, that’s rather mature, hating a character because of a pairing.

Sonic, in my point of view, gets subdued to the most bashing in sprite comics, or fan fiction. I mean it’s fine with Sonic dies, if there was a good reason, such as a hard long fight with an enemy, or sacrificing himself to save the world. However, all I ever see is something like the following, Shadow shooting Sonic’s head off, Shadow Chaos Blasting Sonic to a smoldering ash. It’s NOT THAT SIMPLE! Think about it, Sonic knows a gunshot is coming; he isn’t just going to stand there and do nothing. He’d move away from the shot. And I think kids are forgetting. Guns AREN’T instant kill! Not unless it hits a fatal area I mean.

I know a lot of Sonic haters that still respect him in some way because he started the series, and without him, their favorite character wouldn’t exist, but still, most won’t do that. And I don’t know why, but a lot of Sonic haters seem to support Sonadow (SonicXShadow) I don’t know why it seems that way.

And almost all the time, people make Sonic the stupid one in the story, and even Knuckles can poke fun at him, or point out his stupidity. Seriously, you know Knuckles is dumb, and he should NOT be able to poke fun at Sonic. And then most of the time, Sonic becomes the “Kenny” that becomes killed in every issue. For that reason, I come to dislike most fan fiction and sprite comics, because nothing makes sense at all. I mean if it was reasonable, and not senseless, it would be fine. The kids are just too lazy and want to make Shadow look cool by killing people so easily. Well, I’m sure if you’re Sonic, you’d be running around like heck avoiding deadly attacks, and shooting back your own deadly attacks. Go make some sense or something.

Miles “Tails” Prower

He’s an all right guy, smart and all, but why must a little 8 year old suffer along with the others?

He too suffers from couple extremists. I’m talking about the fighting between Taiream fans and Taimo fans. It just makes Tails look a bit stupid and all. They just keep fighting and fighting, and flaming each other, and draw pictures of Cosmo getting killed to piss of the Taimo fans. They’re fictional characters that don’t exist. There’s no need to be like all “Tails loves that girl and hates the other.”

Then, because he sounds like a girl now, people kind of hate him, or call him girly. That, and his attitude are also attributes people might hate about Tails

Knuckles the Echidna

Well, he doesn’t seem to suffer as much actually. People I guess hate his voice because it reminds everyone of Yami Yugi. I see nothing I can put here, if you have any. You can post in your comments.

Shadow the Hedgehog

Well, Shadow here, he suffers probably just as much as Sonic. He has several annoying fans and all, but he has some smart fans. Heck, some of my friends like Shadow, and I’m cool with that.

Shadow fans though, usually make recolors of Shadow, or Amy, and pair them up with Shadow, or make it his sibling. Changing the Sonic history again, I see? That’s not cool. It’s SonicTeam’s choice to decide if he has a girlfriend or sibling. Not yours. However, I do know that people tend to do this in the beginning. I didn’t though.

Because of his immature fans, some Sonic fans tend to hate Shadow, because he’s too overrated or annoying, or just because of his outrageous fans. That reason to hate Shadow isn’t as good.

His fans tend to flame those whom disagree. Like I said before, I once was flamed, and even in their posts, they posted actions directed towards me, such as “-smacks Ginks’ head- It’s not good to hate Shadow.” And another time, some guy even called me a racist for hating Shadow. His colors had nothing to do with why I hated him. I actually like the colors Black, and red. Bah! It makes the smart Shadow fans look bad. I used to like Shadow, but he just became super annoying, and I could no longer take it, so I stopped idolizing the dork. Partial blame goes to the stupid Shadow fans, and the rest are for reasons why I dislike him.

But one time, I did actually come across a Sonic fan that actually said, “I hate Shadow because he’s black.” Now that is being kind of racist. Racism is bad, and should be looked down upon. Shame on that Sonic fan.

Rouge the Bat

Well, people often call her a slut, probably due to her new voice. I don’t really know if there’s any other reason she might be hated.

Dr. Eggman

Not sure about him either. He seems to have some haters, whom hate him because he’s ugly, or evil. Most seem neutral to him though

Amy Rose

Amy, she’s okay, but a bit annoying. Some people might hate her, because she’s stupid and she’s annoying. Some might even hate her because of ShadAmy. She’s not that bad, but people seem to poke fun at her a lot. Some might just dislike her personality and her obsession for Sonic.

Cream the Rabbit

Some might hate her, because her voice is too high, or inaudible. She might be annoying to some people, and might be viewed as a crybaby, or godmodded.

Big the Cat

I personally like Big, because he’s a bit goofy, and slow. Too bad most hate him because of that. Some accuse him of being a retard, but you should know, that he isn’t stupid.

A stupid person can’t coordinate, and fish Froggy out of Chaos. A stupid person might get lost on the Egg Carrier, and I believe Big didn’t get lost. And Big was able to fly the Tornado off the Egg Carrier. Could a retard do that? I don’t think so.

And if you’ll argue that he’s fat and ugly, plus he’s slow, I disagree. Big is fluffy and cute to me, hah! He might be slow and all, but have you seen him climb those ladders? He might be fat and all, but hey, there’s a new in the Sonic franchise. If Big is fat, does that mean you hate fat people in general? You shouldn’t hate people because of their appearance.

Espio the Chameleon

Well, I don’t think he really is hated much.

Charmy Bee

Okay, seriously! Why do so many people hate this guy? Sure, he’s a bit annoying and all, but what do you expect? He’s a pestering 6-year-old. I’m sure we were annoying once when we were kids. Are you denying your annoyance and all, and hating Charmy because he bugs everyone. You’re pretty much hating what you used to be then. Don’t deny it, we all must have been annoying at one point of our lives.

I guess it could also be the voice, but I find the voice interesting. His 4KIDS voice though, is very unfitting in my opinion. He needs a better voice, because the current one makes him sound nerdy and stupid. Not sure how those two fit, but it just sounds stupid.

Vector the Crocodile

Well, people might hate him because he’s a bit of a whack, or that he has an odd interest for Vanilla or something. They might hate him because he’s greedy, and usually leads the team to humiliating predicaments or something. I don’t really know, so I’m leaving this at how it is.

Jet the Hawk

Most likely, people hate him because of his voice, his attitude, what he did throughout the story, or just because he’s a whiny brat.

Wave the Swallow

People might hate her because she dissed Tails, and sabotaged Sonic’s board. They might also dislike her attitude

Storm the Albatross

They might hate him because he sort of resembles Big or because he’s fat

Blaze the Cat

She might be hated for being new, or looking fan character-ish

So let’s summarize. What are the issues that go on in the world? There’s racism, homophobia and derogatory, discrimination, and a lot of issues. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if people weren’t going out of control with their right of speech? Of course you can say you hate a particular character, but did you really have to abuse that right to the point of screaming at those whom disagree, and hurt people’s feelings. I think we should all control it, and/or just keep it to ourselves.

Leave comments if you want, but if you’re gonna argue or go ballistic on me, I will try to counter-argue back, unless there’s nothing I can say back. If that happens, I’ll say something else I guess.
:pokeball: The Pokemon franchise is over twelve years old now, with four distinct generations of creatures, more than ten movies, ten seasons of anime with more episodes than any other animated series currently running in the US, hundreds of trading cards, and games for every Nintendo console since the original Game Boy.

:pokeball: It has a huge following on the internet, boosted recently by Diamond and Pearl versions' Wi-Fi capabilities! Here's a look at some of the great Pokemon artwork here on dA. I tried not to use more than three images from each artist, and to vary images between all four generations. And I did sneak a few of my own in... Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! And thus concludes our tribute to the wonderful world of Pocket Monsters! Whether you hail from Sinnoh, Orre, Hoenn, Kanto, the Orange Islands, or Johto, I hope you found something to your taste! :pokeball:
After playing 358/2 Days, a game which I found as unimpressive as its title, I lost a lot of faith in the Kingdom Hearts series. To make a long story short, the story was badly paced, it starred a Mary Sue, was terminally repetitive and failed to add anything to the gameplay other than a very frustrating deck system.

So does Birth by Sleep fare better than that? Yes. Yes, indeed.

Luckily for me, I speak enough Japanese to be able to understand the Japanese release. The US version is out on September the 7th, the European version on the 10th and the Australian version on the 9th.

On to the review!

Story & Characters (spoiler free zone) 7.5/10

The story is set around about ten years in the past, with a new set of characters. The three main characters are all keyblade users training under their master to become keyblade masters. There's Ven, with a rather Sora-like personality, Aqua, who is an 'older sister' type, and the dead-serious but rather sweet Terra. Events lead them to split up and leave their hometown, traveling through various new worlds.

Each character has their own story mode, so once you've chosen a character and you'll see events from that characters' perspective. This gives the story a rather different structure to previous games; through playing through one character's story mode, you'll get hints about what is happening with the other characters. In order to understand the full story, you'll need to play through all three.

I found all three characters very likable, though the opening scenes really don't give you enough background on the characters. I found myself playing Terra's story going "So. Uh. Hello? Who is this guy? What's his story?" You do find out more as the game progresses, but it could do with more introduction to the characters at the start.

Of the three stories, by far my favorite was Terra's. It's well written, keeping you guessing right up until the end, and ties in perfectly with hints we've been given in previous KH games. Ven's story started out strongly and had some really interesting build up, only to end poorly. Aqua's story mostly focuses on her trying to help the other two, without much story of her own, so I found it the least interesting of the three. There's also something after... but that's something you'll have to wait and see for.

Many of the more interesting elements of the story are hidden away in the Xehanort reports, rather than being in the main story where they should be. I'd really recommend you take the time to read them as you get them.

One thing that seriously annoyed me in 358/2 Days was that it included worlds that have now been in four KH games (and that's not counting Re:Coded or the PS2 version of Chain of Memories). Thankfully, we're treated to a mostly new set of worlds for this game.

There are three classic princess worlds (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White). Not much to say about those, though Maleficent has an interesting role to play. The Olympus Coliseum makes yet another appearance, but it has Zack in it, so I'll forgive them this time. Radiant Garden in it's former glory was absolutely wonderful to see, and needless to say, there are plenty of neat cameos here. There's Disney Town. Ow. Music. Bad. ...Deep Space (Lilo and Stitch, without Lilo) was my favorite world, with some really neat anti-gravity effects that make up for you not being able to fly in this game. Also there was another visit to Peter Pan's world, but this time you're able to explore the island.

Gameplay 9/10

I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay! I'd say it's this game's strongest point. There are plenty of similarities to previous KH games, but with a new deck system, shoot-lock mode and  command style changes (rather like Drive forms from KH2, but mostly elemental and always kick-ass). You equip a certain number of abilities into your deck, including magic, special attacks, potions and so on. By using these in certain orders, you can change into different command styles during battle.

Deck commands that you have equipped level up pretty quickly, and once levelled up you can combine commands to make new attacks. Mostly it's pretty intuitive (eg. Fire + Fire = Fira), though combining two random things can get you some really neat attacks.

You can also equip dodge roll, high jump, slide and (for Ven only) glide. One addition that I really love is Fire Glide (seriously, you glide at enemies and they catch fire. It's WIN).

There a few very tricky boss battles here and there that keep the combat interesting too. You really need to learn different methods of fighting with each character.

The only major issue I had gameplay-wise, and it's a big one, is the loading time. Really, really not cool. Going between areas takes ages, waiting for scenes to load takes ages. Even worse, battles will just stop for several seconds while you change command styles. After a while, you get used to it, but it takes you out of the game.

Graphics & Animation 10/10

The game looks as good as its counterparts on the PS2, so really there's nothing much to fault here. It's a very pretty game and you can tell the team has put a lot of effort into concepting and creating each area. The style is consistent, and every so often there's an area which just makes you want to stop and look at the scenery.
The animation is also what we've come to expect from the KH series, with each character having unique, expressive motions.

Music 8/10

One small disappointment was that we still don't have a new vocal track for the series, with Hikari/Simple and Clean being re-used yet again for the opening.

I've always loved the music in the KH series, and Birth by Sleep has a great variety of new tracks. A couple *cough, Disney Town, cough* get a little grating after a while, but then again, there are some fantastic new boss battle themes and the music from the final world will send shivers down your spine.

Overall 8/10

In summary, Birth by Sleep is a lot of fun to play, while being challenging where it needs to be. Although the story has its flaws, it also has moments of brilliance which are well worth playing for.

Are you a gamer? If yes, congrats!

why...? Because gaming can makes you smarter than the normal people. First for the adventure game lovers.Where I know this...? I do a research!

From my research, I got 60 gamers on the list and 80% had great brain works on the real world...the reason is,

> when you played game and read the instruction and not cheating, your brain trained to remember everything and reading's skill can improved automatically.

> when you move your character(s) or make a movement, your eyes and fingers are trained to work together.

> If you played detective, adventure, or kind of it, you will trained to be more patient, careful, and thinking with logic.(except using a guide, You'll be like a robot)

> If you played fighting games or Tetris or what, your brain reflect trained without you need to notice it.

> When you play strategy game, You will trained to arrange a plan before doing the game...

and much more good things from game. But, what makes gamers looks fool in the world eyes...? here I give the reasons:

1. Addicted so badly!
> addicted so badly makes them won't thinking about the other things except games, the worst is... they think they are on the game
2. Too long playing games!
> The radiation that comes out from PC, TV, or kind of it can damage your brain and eyes. Be more careful and don't play game too much.
3. Playing a FOR FUN GAME
> not all game is useful. Sometimes there is a game that didn't need your brain to work, in another meaning: JUST FOR FUN

what can we do to prevent three bad things above...?

1.Decide your life dreams from now
>you have to decide what you wants to be in the real world

2.Don't think that you are on the game
>Sometimes you are thinking you are someone on the game while it is not

3.Don't forget your life
>remember you are in the real world, you need food, you need bath, you need work, and you need to know about world's news(example: There is an armageddon and you didn't know since you are too busy playing games)

4.give a free space to sleep
>Don't skip sleeping for games, you need to regenerate your body

5.use game as a property to improve your skill
>play a game that was fit for your dream(example: you want to be a fashion designer, play a game that related with fashion!)

6.Don't play JUST FOR FUN game
>Don't play JFF game... It can makes you pay much and got nothing except temporary fun and pride.

7.Find modify-able game
>Play a game where you can modify it with your own hand like The Sims2, Need For Speed, Step Mania, and much more

8.Try to not using cheats/gameshark
>it make you become a real lazy-gamers

9.prevent to use money in the game play
>Buying the game is good, but if you played online games, prevent to use your money in the game play(example: Play Gaia online and buy outfit with the real money while you only can display it around, boasting it and blah2...)

If you had another tips, comment at this and don't forget to fave it~

and for parents, don't prevent your kid from gaming but let them playing a game with limited time...don't forget to make it as a deal!
Ah yes, who doesn't love that little green dino that Nintendo created and brought to us in Super Mario World.  Thanks to the great fans of Yoshi and its community, many a great pic has been made for him and user's own or other's Yoshian characters.  No matter what style or color that famous character is in, Yoshi is always looking good!  Enjoy the pics that these artists made.:)
