IM GOING TO BE A GODDESS

Ok so i was in my Social Studies when i was called on to be Thetis in a Greek play i didn't know who was King Prometheus so i said yea ill do it! After school my best friend walks up to me saying the king is the guy you are dating! So like girls we both screamed in the hall (bad idea guys never do it) Then a stupid teacher walks up saying "stop screaming like puppies"! So we both left and walked outside it was like death then i say him and he started walking at me (so cute of a guy) but still he was walking at me then was like "yea your going to marry me in a play and in real life nice"of course i started laughing like us girls do. (you guys shouldn't be hatin) So i was like who are you (i knew who he was i just wanted him to tell me)"oh I'm King Prometheus"we started talking then my X walks up and slaps my Boy Friend in the face and said "i should of got that damn part not you bitch"So they started fighting and here i am trying to break it up until my best friend comes up and screams STOP!! (so funny but it was right behind me)so they stopped my X went him way and i conferred my bot friend.

So the stupid damn play is tomorrow but ill be dressing up cause i have to or else ill get a 0 for not dressing up (so stupid) can't wait ill post a new journal when i get home tomorrow

2011 As Seen Through Art

Mon Jan 9, 2012, 8:13 PM

When a major world event occurs, human beings naturally gravitate together, express feelings, and share memories. And while news websites have a responsibility to present stories as a matter of fact, deviantART has the unique ability to showcase emotions and humanity through art.

2011 was full of emotional events the world around, and our community responded at unprecedented levels. From natural disasters to historical celebrations, entertainment milestones to tearful goodbyes, our community spoke out like no other community can — artistically, creatively, and emotionally. In many ways, last year marked the final chapter of a few eras, opening the door to new beginnings for 2012. Let's take a look...

The gaunt, lifeless, but well dressed man never moved an inch from the hundred-year-old must of the doorway. Politely, sternly, he gargled with some class:

“Not something I let people do. Don’t trust visitors anymore, I don’t.”

He never broke eye contact. There was a pause long enough for me to exhale.

“I don’t either.” I said.

He understood.

“But I think I can let you. I’ll let you give yourself a tour.”

With the right kind of eye you could spot the clusters of empathy in his corneas.

Loose-jointed fingers braced the cigarette against her lips as she inhaled, and smoke curled a lazy smile through her hair. She came here every Monday night, sat in the same stool, took the same poison – four fingers, on ice, the colour of dirty sunshine.

All night she would sit there, drinking and sucking on a chain of cigarettes through lips tinged yellow with the burn of nicotine, staring down the squat neck of her glass from 5o'clock to closing time, 10 hours straight. She'd get up only to answer nature's call – although I was never sure how natural it was to use your bladder like a lung, filling and emptying with eve

Some guy just getting out of his favorite jazz club, alone. Pretty easy going guy, jeans and a cotton collared shirt just to make the dress code happy, with simple face features and pretty fit.

On his way to the car he stares up at the blinding city lights that mellow into a pale yellow on the street. Before walking into the car, he figures he'll enjoy one last cigarette and watch the smoke dance around the air in front of him as he controls the very fire emitting from his mouth. As he puts his the lighter away and stares up at the sky with one large exhale, he thinks about who he has to say goodbye to...

Near a new Mazda 6, a boy of seventeen sat under a tree and wrote.  His words were deep to match his wounds:

I can not seek to find to follow
I pull the cords and clean and hollow
Christ, the tree and nails are sharp
Give me the lute, leave me a harp

        "Hi," a voice spoke.
He looked up to see a pretty girl with a small black ring around her eye staring down at him.  He turned back to his writing but could vaguely notice her staring.  Finally, he turned his full attention upon her.
        "What?"
"I just wanted to say 'hi'.  You have a sad look on your face."

The counselors tried to keep the children calm before meals.  They lined them up by cabin in front of the dinning hall and preformed various stunts to pacify them until the tables were set.  Sometimes they sang songs with hand motions:

"Baby Shark do do do do do do, Baby Shark do do do do do do, Baby Shark.  Mama Shark do do do do do do, Mama Shark do do do do do do, Mama Shark, Daddy Shark do do do do do do…" The song continued to tell the story of a woman swimming who suffered a shark attack and flew to Heaven.  It was an annoying tune with gestures that involved little more than clapping your hands together in a vertical snapping moti
HandsThe old man sat on the bench, his little dog lying beside him, his long legs stretched out before him so that their sandal-clad feet were dangling limply above the gutter. The sun shone lovingly on his sand slipped face, warming him so that he slept in quiet comfort, and the spindly fingers of his leathery hands crossed over and over themselves, resting on his chest. A vest seemingly cut from a patch-work quilt lay large and baggy across his shoulders as if an indifferent passer-by had tossed it there. His little dog wagged his tail absent-mindedly, lapping occasionally from a margarine container of water.

burning fires, passion near the
ice box machine, Mexican beaches,
and one long glorious night in
a cabin tucked in the woods
where our sighing chorus started

our luggage
cuddled in the vestibule,

to us
because it was OUR hallway,
where we threw off our vestments,
which were really
just our clothes
but they seemed like garments,
like raiment,
like habits sorely religious,
which is how we felt dropping them

My dear, I'm afraid my acquiescence to your request, (an offer I'm

In the lounge, in Woodyard House, in Hartington, in Derbyshire, the hearth fire snapped and my friend, Alex Obelensky,  fellow troublemaker and son of runaway Russian nobles, asked me, "You want to come collect sheep-turds?"

Sheep-turds are widely used to fertilize gardens in the Peak District. There was nothing even mildly amiss in my friend's remark. My parents did not react. I shrugged.

"Don't mind walking with you while you do it," I said.

So we threw on scarves, slipped into boots and went out the back door. Our garden connects to the fields, and it's a short walk to Bullicka, the first of the chain of Seven Sisters - giant hills w

Arrival

She caught herself thinking.

Thinking about the squares. Hard. Whole. Easy to grasp. Every side perfect, every edge sharp. Never bleeding into each other. Black to white to black to white. Without beginning. Without end.

Before, there had been nothing. Now the squares were whispering to her in their sibilant, shuffling way. Now they were inserting themselves into her life. Could she go back? She wanted to. Desperately. But, no, there was only forward. She was being forced to think again. About the squares. Only about the squares. They beckoned, and she would follow, hoping their comfort wasn’t a trick.

It is time for another issue of TWENTY, the spotlight that features twenty great artists in deviantART.
Twice a month, we showcase 5 works by 20 artists from all the realms of deviantART.  No restrictions at all, other than the self-imposed one mentioned further down.  We will focus mainly on unknown artists within deviantART.
That way,  you will be able to see the talent that lies in the depths of the galleries.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the last issue of Twenty was not released, so to make up for it we give you a special pixel edition!
This latest issue features some of the greatest and most interesting pieces of pixel art you can see here on deviantART!

You will notice the lack of literature in TWENTY. The explanation is quite simple: We feel more comfortable around visual artwork and trust that our friends over at ~suture are better qualified to pick great literature from and for the community.

Without further ado, here is the art!

Here is a deviant with multiple talents and a gallery full of material, all of which is high-quality.  3D, Sculpture, paintings, and drawings.  The skill to master multiple mediums like this is truly remarkable.

2 - :pointr: ozhan
~ozhan is a 3D artist for whom realism is the ultimate goal.  His skill is outstanding and is sure to make you doubt your eyes for a few moments.  Breathtaking 3D work!.

~fezylush is a great general photographer.  The overall color theme of most of her gallery invokes a warm feeling that is simply due to her wonderful photographs.

:thumb16304441: :thumb6394827: :thumb16675376:  :thumb15721955:  :thumb16640917:

~poopgannet is one of those artists who can not only draw amazing characters, but can also model them in digital 3D.  His style is style is nothing short of amazing, and his gallery is definitely worth a visit.

Architecture is the photography realm that highlights ~PoiLoCK's gallery.  Minimal and highly complex structures are depicted in a wonderful way.  But even if architecture doesn't fit your tastes, there is plenty of abstract and conceptual imagery in there.

:thumb7637813:      :thumb16676860:     :thumb7295525:  :thumb16742974:      :thumb9456580:

Few things are as cool as a gallery filled not only with amazig technique, but imagination as well.  ~PreyingDantis adds a great touch to his artwork.  See for yourself!

~themeny is a breathtaking 3D artist.  While his gallery is relatively small, every single one of his pieces is nothing short of amazing.  The atmosphere is one of the key elements that make his work simply stunning.

Looking at ~Kanal's illustrations is quite an interesting experience.  They all have a story to tell but, most importantly, they have their own dynamics which define his style.  Wonderful illustrations here!

            :thumb8858188:

Here is another photographer with a high-quality, diverse gallery.  If there is one place in which architecture and nature come together, then it's in his gallery.

Portraits hold control of ~quickreaver's gallery.  However, these arent photographic portraits.  These are done both digitally and traditionally, and the result is nothing but high-quality artwork.

~KaziModart adorns this issue of Twenty with some excellent pieces of jewelry.  His craftsmanship and variety are worth a highlight here, and his works would look great on anyone!

15- :pointr: boron
*boron is a very skilled nature photographer.  The highlight of his gallery are, without a doubt, his macros.  But even without the macros, his gallery would still be very impressive.

:dev: can certainly be qualified as a multimedia artist.  Literally.  He is capable of mixing a great number of mediums, crossing over the line that divides digital and traditional effortlessly.  His gallery holds inspiration for those who believe to be stuck in just one world of art

Sensuality reigns supreme in the gallery of ~Sojasun  The high contrast of her photography make for a minimal look which simply defines and highlights the elements that make an image sensual.  Naturally, she shows skill in other realms of photography as well.

                        :thumb9738218:

Fantasy is what ~tigermouse does best, and with a very unique style.  This is the kind of work that one is not surprised to find in books.  Her coloration and overall style is very unique.  Just like one would expect from an artist such as this one.

The artwork found in ~Taztooed's gallery is fanart but with a twist.  They have a charicature look to them, but still remain the essence of the original.  Fine work in this gallery.

Closing this issue, *ChristianNauck delivers us very stylish illustrations.  One has got to admire the imagination that lies behind these images.

You will notice the lack of literature in TWENTY. The explanation is quite simple: We feel more comfortable around visual artwork and trust that our friends over at ~suture are better qualified to pick great literature from and for the community.

Without further ado, here is the art!

Breaking the ice for this issue, here is ~frostedflames.  A Winamp skinner of great skill, his minimalistic skins don't cease to be sleek and wonderful to admire.  Clean is the name of the game for ~frostedflames.

2 - :pointr: stuk
~stuk's specialty seems to be glass.  His relatively small gallery is not without quality artisan work.  Shapes, forms, and colors make his craft worth checking out.

~marine-artist-james is.....well....a marine painter!  His traditional paintings are nothing short of amazing.  These are the kind of paintings that can be confused with a photograph.  The level of detail and effort that goes into these paintings is sure to......blow you out of the water!

~Pitaman brings some excellent vector illustrations to this issue.  From portraits to grafitti, this artist is worth a look!

            :bigthumb15651567:

~serVI has some gorgeous skins in his gallery.  And not just for Windows, you can find some Linux skins there, too! Sleek and detailed, the wide color selection of his skins make it hard to find a skin that doesnt suit your tastes.

It will take quite a while to sort through ~blue-fusion's extensive gallery.  His works are extremely diverse with colors, designs, and themes.  Truly worthy of a visit.

Quality character work is what you'll find in ~stanleehouston's gallery.  He does an excellent job at depicting some of our favorite characters from comics, movies, and more.

Fantasy is what you'll find in ~Desert-Of-Seth's gallery. Great coloration and brushwork make for excellent artwork.  Needless to say, you will regret missing out the full views.

The style of ~aaronravensoul is loose  yet fun and detailed.  Key elements for illustrators, along with knowledge in the use of colors, which is evident in his artwork.

Design, skins, and photography.  Not your common combination, especially when the skins involved arent human skins.

~XxMorteKaixX is another relatively new deviant, but her gallery already has excellent pieces of jewelry.  The intricate designs are sure to grab your eye, and the detail that each of her pieces has is enough to keep your attention on them.

It's hard not to browse *Elengwat's gallery and think of Luis Royo when looking at some of his fantastic pieces.  This deviant shows great skill with traditional media, and that makes him worth a visit!

13- :pointr: tw13ve
!tw13ve is simply a top-class photomanipulator.  Every single work in his gallery is special.  The mood that they have is only equaled by the quality of the photomanipulation that takes place.

     :thumb7988910:      :thumb4561209:  :bigthumb7249035:     :thumb3710697:      :thumb1344889:

14- :pointr: mcf
~mcf shares some excellent quality digital illustrations here.  Not only the technique is good, but the subject matter, dynamics, and everything in between is put together extremely well.

:thumb6384609:

15- :pointr: zozu
!zozu is one of those artists who can handle multiple techniques in the art world.  Photography and drawings, sometimes mixed together to result in great art.

   :thumb16033896:      :thumb17794379:      :bigthumb14845553:      :thumb18159789:      :thumb17001359:

~invisiblesuitcase's work is just great.  Whether working in digital or traditional, his pieces are simply fun.  The meticulous attention to detail is also worthy of notice.

17- :pointr: pierk
Visit ~pierk's gallery and you'll be greated by an army of characters. Greatly depicted in pencil, these characters are guaranteed to make you chuckle at least once.

The photography that ~sisterjameela shares with us ranges from great conceptual artwork to wonderful portraits.  There is a certain element of cleanliness in all of her work, which is a must-see.

One of the most impressive things that you can find in ~GUDsine's gallery are, without a doubt, his drawings.  Both digital and traditional (airbrushed, no less), his creatures and hybrids will please any monster enthusiast.

20- :pointr: am3000
Closing this edition, another skinner, ~am3000, delivers some great skins.  As if that wasn't enough, excellent wallpapers grace his gallery, too.  It takes design skill to produce such material, and ~am3000 sure has it!
