Two of our fellow Deviants lost their home and everything in it, including two pets, to a house fire on July 20th. their house was burnt to the ground.

Kysa :iconazrael-neko: AKA :iconwwerockstar:, her brother Joe :iconjozilla67:, and their parents have completely lost their home.

They also lost a lovely Tabby Cat named Pepper and a beautiful Calico named Bug in the fire. :(

According to Azrael's Devious Journal Entry, all of the human family are alive and thankful.

I'm posting this news to spread the word so that our thoughts and/or prayers may be with them. I'm really at a loss of what else to say except that I will donate to them via PayPal or some other way as soon as they give me a link/address. :D

Sincerely,
Chrissy.
The probability of banning anime is getting high as Governor Shintaro Ishihara provoked this bill and signed into law after passing a final vote. The big companies of manga namely Kodansha, Shogakukan, Shueisha and other manga companies tried to oppose to this bill by withdrawing to from participation to Tokyo Int’l Anime Fair, the biggest event for anime industry.

Bill 156 or known as the “anti-otaku law” was passed due to the effects of anime/manga/games to the youth. These types of media are stated as to “interfere to the healthy development of youth” due to its contents like excessive sexual depictions, blood/gore, cursing, child pornography and the like.

The bill is actually intended to regulate the releases of manga, anime and games and prevents the sale of “sexually stimulating, encourages cruelty, and/or may compel suicide or criminal behaviour” materials to minors. These mature contents are the usual substances of anime/manga/games which if lessened, will be less interesting. The bill may have a negative effect on Japan’s economy through losing one of their “popular cultures”. A lot of anime forum sites stated that “this is clearly an attack to otakus around the world”. Though the bill will only take effect in Tokyo, Japan, otakus around the world seems to have their piece of mind with this.

The regulations shall take effect on April 2011 while the restriction will be implemented on 1st of July 2011.

My friend :iconfuteki: and I are having a table at Ninja-Con this year! I'll be there selling some of my convention left overs in addition to possibly having some new stuff to purchase. It's going to be in Little Tokyo on June 8th if anyone would like to come and visit us!
