Hello, everyone!!! I think I'll be doing another Kiriban at 2345 PVs! But, this time I'll draw a colored chibi for whoever catches the Kiriban!!! I'll most likely be out of school by the time it's caught (only nine or so school days left :iconyeahplz:), so I'll be able to do more in less time :iconfeelingfreeplz: Anyway, it's a bigger Kiriban, so I thought the prize should be bigger :iconflailingplz:

GOOD LUCK!!! :iconyayzplz:

P.S. Don't forget to show me a screenshot!

Summer Seaside Contest

Sat May 18, 2013, 6:19 AM by ~AquamarineQ:iconaquamarineq:
Us founders have been very inactive lately so to make up for it, we'll be holding an awesome contest for you guys .

Theme

:heart:Participants should submit photos/paintings/drawings related to summer, nature and water (can be ocean, sea, lake, anything).

Deadlines and such

:heart:You can submit from this day on until 1st September :D! However it must be in this folder: [link] . If one fails to submit their photos there, they won't be taken into consideration. Btw, there's a limit of 5 photos per participant so only post your best work!

Judging and prizes

:heart:Our co-founder *Calisaroa and I will be deciding, however we'll have polls through which members can vote as well. If, say, 60% of members vote Picture X which the two of us don't particularly like, he or she will get a popularity prize consisting of their works being featured in this group after the contest is over. The winners (so the ones whose pictures we will like most) will get prizes as following:
1st place - 400 points
2nd place - 200 points
3rd place - 100 points
all participants - 1 llama

I would also like to add that only BeautifulScapes members can join this contest. I guess this was about all. Good luck to all of you and I really hope we'll get many nice submissions :D.

Hi everyone! How are you all?

So as the title states, I'm hosting another contest! (details below) This one is a summer contest so it'll run throughout the summer. : ) It was originally going to feature several adopts from *resadoptables's but I came up with another idea for that which will be later (sometime after the contest I'm hosting now is over, and will be hosted over at #the-resadopt-club) So stay tuned for that one~

And *jaywalkings if you're reading this, I know you asked if you could help with that one, so if you want to help brainstorm with me as my co-host, just note me!~

Okay, for my current contest, if you're interested in participating, all details can be found here: [link]

The contest features: & and their misadventures!~ ^.^

And if anyone could help me advertise, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading and hope to see you there!

The Eighth Entry May 27th, 2013

I left for school this morning and saw for the stray for the first time.
It was a lanky, long-legged black cat, and I had caught sight of it just as I had walked out of the door. It was trotting along the sidewalk in an off-beat gate, and I noticed it had a limp in its back, right paw. I knew this was probably an old injury for the cat had no look of pain on its face.
When the door had slammed behind me, the cat stopped in its tracks and stared at me. It had astonishing, amber eyes that were so rich and profound that just for a second I had gotten lost in their depths.
The tip of the cat's tail twitched twice, the only movement it made since it had froze. Those eyes matched the same impassiveness that I stared at it with. Finally, after enough time had passed, it flicked an ear before turning and dashing across the road. It stopped, glanced at me one last time, before disappearing into the dark woods.
The moment the cat had gone, I fell out of a trance that I hadn't known at the time I was in. I blinked a few times before continuing my way to school.

         I can't believe it, I truly can't believe it.
I was walking back from school and there it was, laying on the road, two black, empty sockets staring at me. The skull.
I halted in my tracks and stared back at it. I finally began to truly believe my first thoughts, that whatever was causing the skull to move was beyond my comprehension.
Suddenly I ran towards it, but I have no idea why I was running. I snatched the skull, stopping only when I had reached the front door to my house.
My father was already home, so the door was already unlocked. I walked calmly into the house and dropped my bag on the floor. Cupping my hands over the skull, I went up the stairs and entered my room, closing the door behind me.
I put the skull on the stand across from my bed. I sat on the mattress, head in my hands thinking. Why did the skull refuse to be buried? Was there the squirrel's spirit restless?
I never have believed in ghosts, but now I was not so sure. I could not imagine why an evil spirit would wish to harm me, so I felt as though bringing the skull into my room did not present any danger. However, leaving it here just seemed to go against everything I believed in, it went against my duty.
At this point I wasn't sure what I was to do. The harder I thought about it, the more strange everything became. I began to feel weary and exhausted, and soon I fell into darkness as black as the skull's eye sockets.
The Seventh Inning May 26th, 2013

It was a clear Sunday morning, and it had only been a day since I had buried the skull before I found it again.
I first I was dumbfounded, for I was sure that it had to have been a different skull. However, when I picked it up I found that tell-tale crack that ran from the back of its head to its right eye socket. I ran to the grave to see it an animal messed with it, but the rock had remained in the same place.
It all didn't make sense, how could the skull have gotten even further across the lot on a night with no storm, and when the rock hadn't be tampered with so it had a place to come up?
I shook the thought away, for now I was more concerned about restoring the skull back into the grave . . . again.
The Sixth Entry           May 25th , 2013

I forgot to write that I did, in fact, have to pick up some of the dispersed body parts last week.
Usually it would take quite awhile for the rate of decomposition to convert a corpse into a pile of bones. However, the constant, vehement rain combined with the intense humidity and the amount of insects in my father's garden had allowed the right conditions.
The moment the storm had let off and my father had allowed me to go back outside, I raced to the flower garden. Some of the plants looked depressed, drooping over their fallen petals while others arched upwards powerful and healthy after their roots were throughly soaked. I sought out the sundial lupine, who did in fact, fare well, standing straight over the small sticks. Ah, this was no different than how I expected to find the squirrel.
Most people imagine bones as glowing white, but these bones were yellow and brown after being stained by mud and material. Some of these bones were also cracked or broken in some places, others shattered into multi sized chips. All these were indicators of its cause of death.
Nevertheless, I attempted to retrieve every piece that I possibly could, for I wanted to make it less likely that my father would stumble across any of pieces while gardening. When I thought I gathered every bone, I dug a hole in the spot that I believed was the ordinal grave. The rock marker had been moved during the storm, but I soon knew it was the correct place for the shovel was soon becoming entangled in grey fur.
I placed all the remains in the now deeper hole before I had a sudden realization: the skull was missing.
Where could it have gone? It was no longer in the hole, and yet I had not seen it in the flower garden.
I got up to take a better look at my surroundings, but nothing stood out among the green of the grass. I knew that skulls were lighter than bones when the skull was hollow, yet it seemed less likely that it could have gotten as far as the yard during one storm.
Despite the contradictions, I began to search around the house, finally finding the skull in the front yard when I almost stepped on it. I picked it up and noted the long crack that came from the back of the skull and dipped before rising up and connecting to the right eye socket. I was also surprised of how white the skull was compared to the other bones. It had obviously been out longer than the others, for it to have been already bleached by the sun.
When I added the skull into the grave, there was a small sense of satisfaction, as had there been when I buried the bird. I placed the soil back in the hole and then put the rock back on top, completing the grave once again.
I had a thing against leaving any dead creature unburied, but that also meant every bit of that creature must be buried. This usually disturbs people, but this is because they have no compassion. However, I am sure you wouldn't like to be cut in half so that part of you is tossed in a casket while the other is tossed away to rot in the open.
The shadow man left my mother that way, and although she was not cut in half, he just dumped her body like garbage. He did it like she was worthless, like she wasn't important enough to have a place to rest. He forgot her.
It is because of him that I must buried the bird. That is why I buried the squirrel. They are worthy individuals who were killed and forgotten by everyone else. I knew if it wasn't for me they would have no one else left for them to remember them. It was my duty, and whoever gave me scorn for it were just as bad as the shadow man in my eyes.
