Today we are dissecting My Little Alien by ~Spippo
First off, please introduce yourself?
My name is Mari Kasurinen, I'm 24 years old and studying art in Finland.
Please explain what we are viewing.
It's a My Little Pony customisation, inspired by H.R Giger's Alien.
Can you describe for a layman how it’s made?</h4>
First I took the hair off from the original My Little Pony, then constructed a frame out of steel wire.
Then I added the Super Sculpey to mold it into the form of the Alien. Afterwards I do the paintwork and finish it off with a lacquer.
What tools did you use?
My workshop is the livingroom table. 
I mostly use everyday kitchen accessories and basic sculpting tools.
What was your inspiration in creating this?
In my opinion, the Alien is a massive pop-icon. Thus, I wanted to create this customisation.
How long time did it take you to make this?
Over several days, about 3-5 hours a day. Hard to say since there's usually many projects (School and personal) simultaneously.
Did you run into anything unexpected while creating?
Working with this piece was very challenging and interesting as the Alien is very dynamic and imposing figure.
Are you happy with the result?
I'm happy with the result as it is. Of course, I always learn something new from every piece I make.
Where have you learnt your skills in this area?
Mostly self-taught.
Do you take your own photos? Any tips you want to share for presenting your work?
Yes, I take my own photos on my balcony when It's a sunny day You learn by doing and since photography is an artform of its own, it is better to consult a specialist on the matter.
At least a good lighting is very important.
What is the best tip you can give to others wanting to test this craft/material/technique?
Start with something simple and preferably with a character that is dear to you. In that way you get more emotion to it. Practice makes perfect
Are you selling your work?
Yes, I sell them and do commissions as well.
