Over the past 2 weeks the fractal community has been doing a series of challenges by `DWALKER1047 called the Round Robin.  In case you are not familiar with what a Round Robin is, it is 1 parameter shared by many people each giving it their own spin.  Kind of like a secret that is opposite by the time it reaches the end.

In this article, we will show you the results of the 2nd Challenge, which was Resources, as well as the Bonus Round-Treasure Hunt. Below you will find the images from the community.  BTW…awesome job everyone!!!!  


We have released resource files for Ultra Fractal, Fractal Explorer, Incendia, Apophysis 3D Hack and Apophysis 2.08beta2 with flames and parameters from the Round Robin by most of the deviants who participated in the challenges.  These flamepacks, parameter files and spot files are available for the entire community to tweak and experiment with. Just make sure you give proper credit to the originating artist if you use them.

You will need a script and a plugin don’t you know you just might go looney if you don’t tile-it, and don’t be slow. Please change the color because the GD loves purple grapes And you can find one here in the gallery of CJ, so don’t hesitate As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

First stop on your list for another twist will be to find a set of parameters called “APO Attack.”   A serpent has many kinds of scales such as the ones that mobius details.  So hurry to get it and make a mural of gold using the richest gradients you can find.  For inspiration, there will be no hesitation because if ye seek…ye will find.  A gradient pack by~MemoriesOfRain

But don’t you worry, and don’t be so blue, because this one will be pretty just like you want it to.  So go back to the page of my good friend NTto get Gradient Pack 8.

I found a set of parameters to manipulate, I’m afraid that a star oyster is your fate. Then you will need to get another script I often use any from BD’s because they are hip So when choosing a color be sure to be bold !Yatagratsu has some uploaded since 2008 But that’s not too old. As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

ANSWER
1.  Find parameters called “Star Oyster”

3.  Go to !Yatagratsu and download a loud gradient.

CHALLENGE 1

To get this round started take your direction from me go to the gallery of *Kattvinge and get the params for Alchemist's Dream. The next thing to do is change it around because we’re gonna show it all over town. You need something with style, and it must have some stripe, something with texture and flair, and it must be pink! As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

CHALLENGE 2
For the next step are your ready yet….to go and find ~aleisa  Step into her gallery and don’t leave until you find the params for a deviation titled U-111. Next load it to UF and you’ll think you’re in heaven, so give it a tweak, but this time do not use pink. Light blue and silver, with gray and some white, with satiny curves that make you feel alright.  As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

CHALLENGE 3
Next you can pick your own image, and tweak it for me, make something in teal the colors of the sea.  Just use your imagination, don’t be forget to add pearls, and flowers and jewels. Do anything you want because there are no rules!!!  As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

CHALLENGE 4
Put both your feet into the firey fire and have an apple for me, make it really, really shiney, in the colors of lavender and blue.  Something speckled would be the thing, and texture it well with lots and lots of rings.  As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

CHALLENGE 5
Next on your list of stops you need to find a fractalmonster.  In his gallery you will certainly find some art of his if you don’t mind called “CubicMandySeahorses.’  Take the parameters home with you and load them so carefully, please make something with orange and yellow and dark shades of burgundy.  Don’t forget to add some spice and little texture would be very nice.  As soon as you have this finished please upload your thumb, Don’t forget the robins their fun has just begun.

Round Robin 3

ROUND ROBIN
What is a Round Robin??? A Round Robin is where you are supplied with a set of UF parameters, APO Flame, or FE Spot, and you make a fractal, then post it. Then you send those parameters to another person who is participating, and they do the same thing with them. As the parameters get passed around, everyone gets to see how they have changed. Kinda like telling a secret, and it going through 20 bazillion people....and the end result is nothing like what was started with. You can tweak till your heart is content, use scripts, maps, etc....but the parameter, flame, or spot still has to be usable for the next person to have it! Your render settings can be whatever you are comfortable using.

INCENDIA CHALLENGE

Hey everybody!  

What an awesome 9 days it was!    I can't remember when I've ever seen this many marbles in the gallery at one time.  Everyone who participated did an outstanding job on the challenge.  We had several artists who not only made their required marbles, made more afterwards, and there were several others the challenge inspired in the community.  I know this because their marbles were in my   This challenge has produced 375 marbles give or take!    Thanks to all who participated, it was definitely a lot of fun to participate as well as watch.

Sometime this coming week we will announce the days and times of the Bonus Round Tweak-A-Thon for all those who wish to participate.  Don't be afraid, it is going to be a blast.  If you wish to participate please answer this poll to sign up--->  Tweak-A-Thon Sign-Up Poll

it's called the "Round Robin" swap, and they're taking entrants RIGHT NOW.

the idea behind the swap is this:
you make a frame, and mail it to another person who will be doing the same. (they won't be mailing their frame to you tho, you'll get someone else's!)
once you get the frame, you decorate it however you'd like!
