 Hello, sweeties!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! :santa:
Have a wonderful time with your loved ones and I hope Santa left something special for you under the Christmas tree :huggle:

:iconcraciun6:

There is a special dA offer that expires on 26th December. If you give one premium membership as a gift, dA gifts a premium membership of the same value to you.

So I decided to make one of my watchers happy, and they can make their friend happy too.

How?

I decided to give one lucky deviant a 3 month premium membership in the points equivalent.

I won't give you a premium membership directly, 'cos that would mean I would get one from dA myself.

I will give you 636 points (which is a 3 month premium membership value) and when you get it, you can buy your special friend a 3 month premium membership and you will get the same gift from deviantart.

So, that means two premium memberships, for you and your friend (:
But be careful, the offer expires on the 26th of December.

_

In order to participate you only have to

fav this journal
and
be my watcher of course (this is for my watchers exclusively as a thank you for your  wonderful support).
_

I will pick the winner using random.org generator and announce it tomorrow on Christmas at 1 pm (GMT+1),
so you and your friend could get this cool little gift on Christmas
_

Have fun and good luck :shamrock:

+ my latest:

_
Thank you everyone who participated, but unfortunately only one person can win...
...and the winner is
*pakkuma!

Congrats :iconpakkuma:, enjoy your Premium membership
and I hope you will share it with someone special (:

Update 12/27

I want to thank everyone who has participated in my second giveaway for the month of December. I aim to make the next once much more successful with a few more perks (when I'll have the time, I'm not really sure! Money's so tight.), but I can't wait to make another person smile with what I'm able to give them. Take care everyone, and thanks again!!!

And for my fellow commissioners, keep doing a splendid job and always do your best even when it seems no one is looking. :) Believe in yourself!

Happy New Years to all!!!

:heart::heart::heart:

Helpful Tips/

:iconnotdamien: - a regular commissioner, has featured their previous transactions in their recent blog with a helpful incite on what makes a great commissioner, and the type of quality one can seek, even at an affordable price - all the while giving the artists she bought, a generous spotlight. More info on that here!!

Got any tips one should know on how to be a better artist and an effective commissioner? Comment here - in return I may secure a space for you in the raffle.

 Thanks, =NotDamien!

7. Comissions and charms:iconleftlacedivplz::iconpurplebowdivplz::iconpurplebowdivplz::iconpurplebowdivplz::iconpurplebowdivplz::iconpurplebowdivplz::iconrightlacedivplz:
why for the commissions
Why I'm doing commissions is because I need money to help my family buy food and such. Food stamps can only give so much as 200 each month. Okay now  I have to save to get a new laptop now cause I stupidly broke my wireless switch on my laptop, so it's time to get a plug out and and have it hooked up to the land wire. Plus I need to save up to get a car, I finally got my driver's licence after almost 6 months. Getting a car is one thing but I need a new laptop more for internet access. Job hunting is going slow right too it feels like no one is hiring anywhere. But back to commissions...
I am offering chibi commissions for now but if anyone is intereste like a waist up, full body, or something of the sort note me we'll figure out a price and such

NEW COMMISSION PRICES.
READ THE WHOLE JOURNAL BEFORE COMMENTING, CHANCES ARE, YOUR QUESTION IS ALREADY ANSWERED. IF IT ISN'T ASK ME.

Be warned, some things are cheaper than others. Prices are dependent on how long it takes me to make something. Traditional I can do in a jiffy so it's very cheap compared to digital which I pour my heart over. ;__; Remember, $1 = 80:points: so don't bitch and complain that something's "Too costly" :I

Rinja's Mystery Gift

Fri Aug 3, 2012, 7:26 PM
So I've been looking through my folder of gift art done for me, and I am so very thankful for each and every piece of it -- you have no idea. it's so humbling and touching that so MANY people take the time to draw or write gifts for me, and I can't really express it well. It truly is an honor I think a lot of use take for granted at times, and I want everyone to know I truly and deeply appreciate it.

And I want to try and give back some of what I've received. I certainly can't match what you guys give, and there really are too many of you to even make an attempt to give gifts to everyone -- with 1255 watchers, there's no way I can begin to make a dent in that sort of expression of appreciation. Even if I only chose the closest friends or people who regularly comment, I'd still not be able to get to you all if I drew a gift per day for a year. And just because you don' comment doesn't mean you don't read my stories and love them just as much. You ALL make me who I am and inspire me to keep on -- those who are silent just as much as those who comment on everything I post. And I want to be fair about giving some of that back. So I've been deciding on the fairest and most impartial way, free of favoritism and bias, while still keeping the element of "surprise" that gift art is supposed to entail.

Here goes. Not everyone wants gift art (surprising but true), so anyone who does not, just click off this now. Everyone else who wants to be considered, fave this journal AND then leave me a comment (any comment!) to let me know you actually want to participate and aren't just a fave-happy person. When you fave, DA assigns you a number over there  ---> in the fave list. This will be your magical lotto-like number. This means that I can later use a random number generator -- set to numbers between 1 and however many faves are over there -- to select randomly a person to make gift art FOR. ^^ Whoever's number gets picked, I will go to your gallery and select something to draw for you. To keep it a nice surprise, you will not even know that you've "won" until I post the drawing I do for you.

IT'LL BE A RINJA SURPRISE FOR YOUR INBOX! :dummy:

Ok.Recap: fave the journal. You'll be assigned a number. Leave Rinja a comment. Tell me anything. Say 'hi'. Post a "!" mark. Tell me the chipmunks have eaten your rutabaga. Whatever. Just say something at all to let me know your fave actually means something other than your finger spasmed and added my journal to your fave pile. Then, later on, I'll randomly pick a person, check to see that they commented, and make 'em something. And I'll come back to this list as the mood suits me. Might be once a month. Might be once a week. Might be twice a day. ONE NEVER KNOWS. But someone will get something at some point. And that way I don't get an ennui attack when I think of how impossible it seems to be to try and give you back some love. <3 <3

LOVE YOU GUYS, SO SO MUCH :iconloveloveplz:

Why is sketching important?

"Notebooks and their sketches are an artist's portal to creativity.  They're a place to explore ideas, write observations, draw impossible connections, and build entire worlds upon a blank page.  You can be yourself within the safety of a sketch, with permission to make any mark, describe any feeling, and truly express yourself in any way your instrument takes you.

In my notebook, I don't have to be perfect; in fact, it's more successful if I'm not.  This tool exists as a catalyst to transcribe creative processes so that good ideas aren't lost to the ether.  And it's not always about quality.  The more ideas jotted down as inspiration strikes, the more fuel you'll have in the future when searching for ideas or while in a creative rut.

Notebooks are my artistic push-ups and pull-ups.  Like exercising, it can take months to see a result, but once you have the foundation and the discipline, your creative strength grows every day.  For those of you who keep a notebook, none of this is news to you. But for those who do not, I implore you to start up practice and enjoy the adventure that ensues.  You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish and proud at how quickly your skills grow."

#Doodle-with-Pride states that art is art no matter what. They show art in all forms -- from a simple scibble/doodle to an intricate masterpeice.

Some of you already noticed it but yeah yesterday I sent the gift to Hiro Mashima's twitter page, I finally had the courage to do such thing also because of all your support! I really appreciated it!

Yesterday when I was at work I asked my friend to translate a short message for him and just after few minutes later, Mashima sensei kindly replied to my Twit! I still can't believe it!! It's such an honor to receive a comment from a famous mangaka!! Words can't describe what I'm feeling right now!
Here's the message I left him, he didn't retwitt it:

And knowing that he's a super busy person I couldn't guess he would reply to my message!

:rudolph::xmas::rudolph: CHRISTMAS GIFT CHAIN PROJECT :rudolph::xmas::rudolph:

:xmas::xmas::xmas:The Aim:xmas::xmas::xmas:

The best thing about Christmas is without doubt giving expecting nothing in exchange. It's a pure, selfless behaviour that invades us and make us a lil bit more generous and kind.
With this little game, what I want is you to share your love with a deviant. It doesn't matter if you don't know that deviant, that's not the key, giving is all that matters.
What are we gonna give?. Read the rules. :santa:

:xmas::xmas::xmas:The Rules:xmas::xmas::xmas:

:xmas:So what are we gonna give?:xmas:

:santa: Muro drawings :santa:

:xmas:WOAH! HOW?
:santa: Everyone must comment with a muro drawing for the person who commented inmediately before them.:santa:

Example: [link]

:xmas:Can I leave more than one present?:xmas:

:santa: Of course, the more you participe, the more you'll receive! :santa:
Just remember one thing: It's not about commenting a thousand times with a meaningless drawing, if we're gonna do this ok, let's put all our heart on it.
Check the deviant's gallery, look at what he or she likes, make something
you're sure they'll like. Also, put the name of the deviant you're giving that drawing to in the comment, so they know it's for them (sometimes several people comment at one time and this can create a lil bit
of confussion...).

:xmas:Anything else?:xmas:

:santa: It would be awesome if you could spread the word.:santa:
The more people joining the more community spirit floating in the air!

:xmas:And Who starts?:xmas:

:santa: I want the first person to do something for... `Exillior!:santa:
:rudolph: From that on, the game goes on eaaaasily :D :rudolph:

:xmas:Thank you for participing, and Merry Christmas everyone! :xmas:

Best wishes,

Help to upgrade #panoramicshot to a supergroup.

:iconpanoramicshot:

I have started a donation pool on my userpage to get some points to upgrade the group.
So please, anyone who appreciates panoramas or just has some points leftover, don't hesitate to do something meaningful with them.

If you decide to donate some points you get a gift in return.
It will be colligated with an offer I provide since 2 weeks:

Give points get a Feature

It is a Feature system based on :points: as payment method.
Everyone who is willing to give points, gets the possibility to place 3 of her/his deviations on my main page.
Pretty much everything will be accepted. There are no quality guidelines.
I ensure 100+ views per day on my page and every single will see your deviations.
Of course the success depends mainly on the quality of your displayed deviations.
This is just a possibility to get more attention by increasing your audience and doesn't ensure more favs.

The points will be used for prizes for contest winners, upgrading groups to super groups or just supporting other artists.

There are 4 choices:

  • ≥007 :points: for a one-week-Feature

  • ≥021 :points: for a one-month-Feature

  • ≥060 :points: for a three-month-Feature

  • ≥300 :points: for a one-year-Feature

For further information visit my journal: [link].

If you do not want to donate please at least fav the news article, so that more people get to know and the chances of success of this project increase.
We had been contacted by Kyoko Kaneka who represents the art and music
collective Aoineko < [link] >, creators of the award-winning animated film Fragile Machine < [link] >. It had come to their attention that some of our users were citing Aoineko's work as an  influence.

While in Tokyo, the group were preparing to release a music EP, and in what they believed to be an international first, were creating a new type of online art exhibition to coincide with its release. As a thank you to deviantART users and the art community they wanted to give away this exhibition exclusively to YOU.

Enjoy!
