34 People
By DragonRT
Adam Mathews was an overworked businessman that worked in an office building in the center of Boston, he was a credit collector for BlasterCard. He hardly spent any time at home, and the time he was at home, all he did was eat dinner, go to sleep, awaken, eat breakfast, and rushed off across town back to work. Besides his own co-workers, he was completely alone. Adam decided one day that he would use his breaks to go to an online MMO to communicate with the rest of the world. Adam was browsing around the internet, he wanted an MMO he didn't have to pay an entire weekly subscription to play an online game, so he was searching for a long time. It took him days to search, but one day, he came across a game named "Freedom is Ghastly" and he found out that the game was free.
He downloaded it. The game had an auto create-a-character, which made a character of him due to answers to several questions in an personality test, so he decided to take the test. The first question was a simple one, it was about his age. He answered "25". The next one was his height and weight. He answered "6'2" 231 pounds". The last one was a bit tricky, it was "How many people in your life you know current day?". He answered "34 people".
All of his answers gave him a character that looked eerily exactly like him. He then went into the game, he was greeted into the game by a floating bald head that called itself "The Creator", The Creator said "Welcome to Freedom is Ghastly, in this game, your character will be able to feel your exact same emotions. Be careful of people you meet on this game, and the most important rule of all in this game... don't die. In order to talk, just speak. No typing, just speak. Remember my words,
they are vital for your survival"
Now of course, Adam thought of this as a strange little greeting program, but he thought very little of it. He went along in the game, exploring the newbie area as he went along looking for people. There where some monsters in the road up ahead, which, of course, Adam thought very little of and attacked.
Little did he know they where ten levels higher than him, and made very little work of him. The game ended, but when the game ended, The Creator came up again, saying "I told you not to die...." The Creator disappeared and Adam found himself detached from his body and absorbed into the game.
Thirty-four people came to his funeral.
