CALLING ALL EAST COASTERS (in the new york metro area!)

A handful of deviantART staff members are heading to Brooklyn, NY, for the Red Bull Creation spectator event, and we'd love for you to join us!

What is this curiously magnificent occasion we speak of?

The Red Bull Creation event is a 3-day challenge in Brooklyn, where teams from all over the nation are given 72 hours to build something amazing based on a specific topic — which is top secret for now! On July 10th, the teams will reveal their inventions to a live crowd at McCarren Park in Brooklyn for their chance to win both $10,000 in tools and an equal amount in cash.

Do you have the burning desire to be a devious reporter? Do you crave the thrill of a good story? Are you itching to get your hands on some free passes? If you answered yes, then this mission could be for YOU!

About the Event

This year's Cut & Paste Digital Design Tournament  has made its way through 16 cities and 256 competitors from February – June 2009.

It now culminates in a battle of the best, champions vs. champions, with the final 2009 tournament event: the first-ever Cut & Paste Global Championship.

Showcasing the talents of 48 competition winners in 2D3D, and motion design, from the North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific regions , the championship event will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Friday, October 16, 2009.

The Global Championship will present the same three competition formats that Digital Design Tournament 2009 has featured throughout the cities on its global tour: 2D, 3D, and motion design. The Global Championship will be putting sixteen competitors onstage for all three competitions. These competitors, forty-eight in all, represent the winning designers from every city on the 2009 Cut & Paste tour. Arriving with at least one successful competition under their belts, the city champions will take the stage again to quickly create designs against the ticking pressure of the clock and under the watchful eyes of the crowd. And this time, the pride of their countries and hometowns, along with their personal reputations, will be on the line.

In honor of what our world makes us feel as inspiration to capture a photograph or make a beautiful art, no matter if it's real or fantasy.. I THINK TO MYSELF...  WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!!!!

What a wonderful world
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Wonderful world...
A wonderful world...
A wonderful world...
A wonderful world...

Nothing you can see that isn't shown.

In your eyes are my secrets that I've never shown you
In my heart I feel I've always known you
In your arms there's a comfort that I never knew
You're what I've been waiting for, there's no one like you

"I read the news today oh boy..."

I got like 300 journals or more on my message center, I like to read them all when I can. I miss a very very important one.

A car crash took away a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a very very talented and inspiring person. One who always took the time to reply your comments, to make a joke, and one who create fantastic things with her bare hands.
:iconhakubaikou: Is now resting in peace, may God have her in her glory, because she work her talents and I know how kind person she was.

I remember, that my first contact at her gallery was because of her fan arts of Rurouni Kenshin... I even attempt to make an entry to one of her contests at her fansite...

I discover then, that she was one of a kind between many deviants, she was nice and kind, and always available. Thank you for everything.
You will always be remembered. C. W.  Sun
