DA user *DeviantArtSecret. It's basically kind of a group. When you have some kind of secret, a problem you want to anonymously share, you'll send it to DAS' staff and they'll submit it anonymously for you.
I support this idea because I consider sharing a little bit of one's life to be art. Autobiography is art too, isn't it? This is it, just in less words, sometimes with grammar mistakes and weird fonts. Many people can relate to the secrets and many people comment supportively those secrets. DAS can make a difference for a lot of people who are lost and need some help.
Then comes "evil". Poeple who go on about how these secrets aren't art and that they "don't want to see this crap at the front page". You know how artwork gets to front page? When it's popular. The majority likes DAS. And who are the people that hate DAS? That's right, people who never get to the front page. People who are unfortunate in having no talent and submit to DA photos of ham & eggs they had for breakfast this morning, claiming this to be art. They complain about DAS belinging to facebook when it's in fact their images that belong to facebook.
Why are those people so blind with jealousy? Why can't they reach out and give a comforting hand to those who suffer?
Some of the DAS secrets may seem petty. 13 year old girl complaining her best friend is not talking to her. I may not have the same problems now but I know it's a huge problem when you are 13. There are other secrets too and I think that every single one of them deserves our attention. Each and every one of us went through a situation in our lives that we were unable to solve on our own, we needed help. It's the others who need help and look for it through DAS. I am ready and willing to give them as much comfort as I can. Are you?
