A noggin-nibbler.

This is something that's been nibbling at my noggin for awhile, and the final tolerance-feather was finally plucked today when a rude comment was addressed to a close friend of mine.

For a rather long time now, there have been massive complaints against doll and base-makers. Accusations, saying that base/doll creators can't actually draw anything on their own, and that they're simply unoriginal, creativity-lacking tracers.

You know what, though? If these makers/dollers weren't as popular as they were, you wouldn't give them a second glance. You wouldn't give a flying pickle, and you know it. You'd go about your business and wouldn't even half-bat an eyelash.  I have several good friends who are WONDERFUL artists, both in AND out of dolling/base-making. Working with bases also helps curve one's proportion accuracy, as well. Personally, I rarely use them, but I can safely say that I've learned a thing or two from when I have used them.

It just really eats me up to see people causing so much drama over what someone else chooses to do, though. Is it hurting you?  Is it negatively inflicting YOUR art in any way, or stopping you from doing what you enjoy? No. It isn't. So likewise, you should stop trying to force others to quit what they enjoy doing.

Everyone is entitled to do what they want with their art. So long as they are giving basic credit and not taking props for something they didn't do, that should really be all that matters. If what they're doing isn't in your tastes, then common sense would usually beckon you to not look at it.

For example. Me? I am /not/ a fan of furry art, for the most part. And that's putting very mildly. It's just not my thing. Does that mean I'm going to go around throwing obscene insults at everyone that DOES enjoy it, though? Does that mean that I'm going to automatically dislike that person, and base my entire opinion upon the fact that they enjoy furry art? No. If you aren't some creeper trying to force me into doing something or drawing something that I don't want to, or trying to shove your obsession down my throat, then I couldn't care less about what your artistic hobbies are. That's your thing, and I employ you to enjoy it to your heart's content. That won't be what determines whether I enjoy your company or not.

To each their own. Don't like? Don't look. It's such an incredibly easy tactic. So it amazes me how often such simple logic is absent.

This is a website for art and people of all kinds. Just because one person doesn't determine something as art, doesn't mean that it ISN'T art. There are as many ways to define art as there are people in this world. Possibly even more, really. It's something that's supposed to exist for the sake of expression. Whether it's a piece that you spent months on, some random little dribble-drabble that you coughed up during Math class, a silly, half-baked parody poem, a passionate song, a base, a doll, a dance, anything. Anything. Anything.

To anyone that's received hate for their art, simply because the person complaining doesn't entirely agree with what you're doing... Do not let that stop you from doing what YOU want to do. Art is such a beautiful existence, and it's something that we're ALL entitled to wield. It's a wonderful thing. Do not let anyone take that away from you. Ever.

This doesn't just go for base-makers and dollers. This is to everyone. If you enjoy what you're doing, keep doing it. If others enjoy what you're doing as well, take strength from that, no matter how great or small the number. Every person counts. Never take for granted a single person that you've made smile, or made happy, even just for a moment, with your work. Because it's truly a wonderful thing.

To anyone that feels like arguing with me over this matter, you're wasting your breath and time, as I have no intention of wasting mine bickering with someone whose open-mindedness more than likely has about as much depth to it as a puddle in the middle of a desert drought. Sorry, future irritable dear hearts. I do  wish you the best and hope you're able to open your eyes a bit wider in the future.

[So late I know - I really need to catch back up with these things!]

My coach journey down South for this was nothing short of horrendous
Traffic jam gallore - the coach did not move for an hour and a half.
When we finally entered London the two young children behind me got awfully excited and started grabbing the top of the seat
which resulted in me getting half strangled by my seatbelt - Coach journey from hell ;A;

~PlummerC1 kept me sane throughout via text

So to lay it all down
I was an hour late
~Lai-Cy [my wonderful Jack] was a day early after misbooking her coach
and =mystcb arrived somewhere in between.

Eventually I made it in one piece to *Street-Angel's home.
We chilled, ate, fooled and I ranted about public transport.

doing each others hair and PJama parties that turned into random dance offs

We spent the day at Thorpe Park and ended up riding one of the rides 7 times in a row
due to complete lack of queue's - needless to say I got incredibly motion sick by the end of it
and spent the rest of the evening huddled over a bucket :l

After Lunch we headed to a hotel fairly close by - Charlotte went in and enquired with the manager if he had a spare room we could use

The rest of us waited in the car discussing the prices of the surrounding cars assessing who was visiting and who was actually staying in the hotel

1. What are your favorite video game franchises?
Uh I guess Nintendo. I grew up with most things Nintendo, my most favorite video game designer is Shigeru Miyamoto (known for making mario brothers and Legend of Zelda)

2. What is your favorite season?
Either autumn or winter, the cooler months really.

3. If you had to live without one electronic device, then what would it be?
Well technically I could live without any electronics all together but if I had to choose one I guess either my tablet or camera.

4. What is your favorite animal?
I quite like most animals but my favourite are Huskies, pandas, frogs and dolphins.

5. If you have a favourite anime, manga or novel, then which world would you like to live in?
Thats a bit hard to choose... If I really had to hoose it would be either Ouran, Black Butler, Kotoura-san, K, Kuroko's Basketball. Theres quite a list.

6. What has scared you the most?
Probably would have to say Stephen King's IT. That was freaking scary!

7. Did you ever want to cosplay as a character?
Yes, I always have wanted to cosplay as Princess Zelda from Legend of Zelda. I also wanted to cosplay from Ouran and I got to last year (2012) when I cosplayed Kaoru Hitachiin.

Math and sleep

As most of you know, the USA had a tragic event that happened last week where a lunatic went into an elementary school and started killing kindergarteners. Now everyone is, once again, on a rage about how we should make our gun laws stricter.

My country truly saddens me sometimes. Anyone who thinks that will solve the problem is completely retarded and one-minded. Anything can be used as a weapon. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. like a projectile is going to stop killers from killing. I could use my thumb to kill someone. Should I cut off my thumbs? Does that mean I should hand over my pencils and paintbrushes? Because Those can be used as a weapon too.

And for those of you who still think making the laws stricter is the answer, I'll gladly take your car off your hands for you. Those things kill hundreds of thousands a year. Yet no one thinks about these things. They just want revenge. And this is why the rest of the world thinks America is a joke. Thank you fellow citizens for once again, proving our ignorance.

This doesn't mean I don't care about what happened. It saddened me, I didn't get back on the internet all day because I didn't want to continue thinking about how fucked up this world is. But even more than that, I am disappointed in my nation's reactions. And on top of that--> oh how we LOVE to throw the rest of our problems in on everything. Gay rights, religious rights, pro-life vs. pro-choice, etc. ...Pathetic...
