Vector art concept.

Inspiration: Disney, Mads Berg (he makes some really cool illustrations) and a lot of others.

Made in Inkscape.
Tools: Start with primitives like rectangles and circles, combine and convert the primitives to pathes. Then a lot of shaping with the path tools. Coloring with flat color and gradient fills.

This is an abstract piece I did of an owl. Initial concept had it more detailed but still focusing on the face. As I got the details down I went with more is less and got this. I've cropped a large amount around the face to get the effect I wanted.

Done in Illustrator.

Inspired by artwork created by ~kepalakardus

I've never taken an art class, so if anyone out there can tell me what this style of art is called, I would greatly appreciate it!

I decided to try my hand at this awesome style! It's not as easy as it looks...and it's taking me a lot longer to make it than I imagined, but I'm learning a lot, and having fun with it!

Basically, what I'm doing is just adding layers (Photoshop 7.0) on top of each other to create the illusion of lines. I'm assuming that's how this works.

I've always loved artwork like this. When I went to California to visit family, I saw a lot of graffiti art similar to this, and fell in love with it.

Here is the specific drawing I am using as a template to learn this style:

This artist is very amazing, so def check them out...I feel like in order to expand and grow as an artist, it is important to learn different techniques and styles, and when I see an amazing drawing or painting I love so much, I try to recreate it to see if I can't figure out how they did it, or rather how I would do it...and I learn a lot in the process.

I still have a LOT to add. I want to add symbols that sort of represent me (Kitty) as an artist and personality.

I'm NOT trying to steal this artist's style, but instead I'm trying to learn the technique used to make it!

We pause my normal posts to bring you a piece of a rp that we found entertaining. The current situation is that Zyx, the girl biting the guy's head, had been a cat before she arrived and Luci's Academy for the Gifted, but upon arriving she was transformed into a human... sort of. Now she has to be tutored by Dmitri, the unamused guy who is receiving the biting to the head... and she's not really understanding any of it.
Why should cat's learn to do math? What good will it do them in life?
Dmitri's attempt to explain: "Well... if you have three fish... and receive three moooore..."
