glanceslook of nicotine ice   
they have river rock eyes  clouded by nicotine  smoke that blends into  
the air by a frozen STOP sign,  a pause, a puff  a stare from blue-veined ringed  eyes that stare with defiance  “you think you’re better than me?”  as the neighborhood stretches and moans  and their rainbowed lips purse.  two of them stand next to a  yard, a slide and jump ropes,  multi-colored windows and a happy face sticker to  match with bruised paper skin  and adhesive color fingertips,  harder than the fissures in the road,  silver and g glances

Ruminative ThinkingNot Unlike Rivers   
Ripples roll through the  inland waterway and tall grass on its banks.  The water remains black  with shards of navy  when the sun falls in, fractures,  floats.   
The crest of wake  from the largest boats  are tinged East Coast brackish:       mouthful of tea at the bottom of a white mug.   
 
 
My Understanding of Wake   
High surf on beach roads.  Dad yells to other drivers  "No Wake!" and chuckles.

My Reflection in FullThe rain is not at all comforting.  It is cold, the drops are tiny  And cling to everything –

The tree is sleepy,  Cradling its birds in a low lisp.  Restoring the colors  Of an aged world,  The dew washes the dust off.  The sky turns orange,  Surprising the speechless street,  As the city, quite and chilly,  Steals 5 more minutes of sleep.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ….  Dreams slipping away.  The Earth has opened one eye,  Admiring the universe.
