here is another of my few 22.5 degree-based designs, an okay-ish coelacanth from a bird base.

And yes, this is still a work in progress, the second dorsal fin and anal fin don't have the right shape, so I am not enitrely happy with this design yet. I am not really sold on it being bird base-based model too, I would REALLY want to add scales to the final version and bird base simply doesn't lend itself to that very well.

Inspired by Issei Yoshino's coelacanth and Robert Lang's goatfish (that's where the idea to use a bird base cam from. it's a very intuitive design. one flap for the head, one flap for the three fins on the back end of the animal, the middle flap is the first dorsal fin and the remaining two flaps were point-split to form the ventral and pectoral fins.

The used base is one of the main reasons why the model is not very efficient, with the final model being approximately half as long as the starting square's edge, which is rather poor for a diagonally-symetric model...

For sale! [link]

These origami stars are cute for birthdays, parties, holidays, lunch bags, giving to friends, and just because.

You have a choice from several colors of paper, and can choose if you want solid or pattered paper.

These stars are handmade (about 1" big), and the cards are cut and hole punched by me.

I will do personalized messages on the card if you ask, but this is the default. I also do bulk orders!

My second 3D origami piece; A Purple Bear. Again, made as a present, this time for another friend 18th Birthday

This figure stands at around 9 inches tall and 6 inches across. Made out of 502 white pieces and 328 purple pieces, totaling 830. Took around 4 hours to put together.

I followed another tutorial from Girnelis on YouTube, a link to the video can be found here: [link]

Please comment and leave your feedback, i would greatly appreciate it.

It's been on hold for a while, but it's finally done :)
I know it's been a while since I've been on here, might as well need some quality for a comeback, what better than a flying insect :squee:
BTW the wing-cases are color changed =D
The head part is a bit thick, and it looks awkward, but it was really quite difficult shaping that part, with all the layers and the kind of paper I have :/

Just so you know what an amazing origami coelacanth looks like. XD
What a shame this design has recieved practically no attention on the internet, so I just wanted to give Mr. Takayuki a little shoutout.

I haven't found any pictures of the folded model on the internet, only a rather low-res version of this picture from the diagrams, so I guess I will be the first one to upload a picture of this amazing model on the internet! so exciting!

There are diagrams aviable for download from this website: [link]
