Season 1 Chapter 10: To Trust or Not To Trust


Beast Boy: Last time on Total Drama Island. Things heated up as the contestants competed in a cooking challenge. The Gopher girls got tired of self proclaimed leader Sissi's bossy attitude, so they decided she needed to "chill out." Naruto lead his team to victory, though he kinda got his nationalities mixed up. And in the end, the Gophers got to the bottom of their losing streak, Tenten's cursed Boney Island tiki idol, and by voting her off, the curse was lifted......or WAS IT?! You'll just have to stay tuned to find out, tonight on TOTAL. DRAMA. ISLAND!

(episode starts in the mess hall with Jim serving food to Yumi)

Jim: *puts weird mush on a plate then gives it to Yumi* Today's breakfast: French-Japanese Fusion Casserole!

Yumi: So, leftovers from the cooking challenge?

Jim: *glares at her* Is that a problem?!!

Yumi: *backs away slowly* Uh...no. It's, uh, fine. *practically runs off*

Sissi: *at Gopher table and is in a towel and sneezes*

Yumi: *sits down across from her with Ino and Aelita* What's up sniffles?

Sissi: *sarcastically* Oh ha ha. You're so funny! If you think you can just lock me up in a freezer and get away with it, you have another thing coming. I am going to make you three wish you never met me!

Ino: A little late for that.

Sissi: You are such a-- a-- a-- ACHOO!! Ugh! I hate this show!

Mayu: *rests her head on her arms* And everyone on the show hates you. We have actually something in common.

Sissi: Ugh, zip it sleepy head. I'm sick enough without your input.

Mayu: *picks her head up gives her an icy stare* And I'm sick enough of you. One more comment and I swear I'll be sent home with another death on my head.

Sissi: *gives her a shocked look*

Yumi: Um, another?

Mayu: Yes another. *buries her head in her arms without another word*

Sasuke: Just, don't ask.

Yumi: *turns back around like nothing happened*

(scene change to Bass table)

Naruto: *sits down next to Hinata* Hey Hinata.

Hinata: *face instantly flushes at his voice, she glances and hunches over her food so her blush won't show* Oh...uhm, good morning Naruto.

Naruto: You know I just wanted to say, you were a really great assistant yesterday.

Hinata: Oh. *her face gets a little redder and she smiles* Thanks I try the best I can.

Naruto: Heck, if you hadn't helped out so much, we probably wouldn't have won the challenge.

Rock Lee: *nudges her with his knee under the table*

Hinata: *turns to Naruto and hugs him excitedly* Thank you Naruto!

Naruto: *whitened out anime eyes and blush* Whoa! Uh...you're...welcome Hinata.

Hinata: *continues to hug him*

Rock Lee: *clears throat*

Hinata: *almost hesitantly lets go and turns back to the table, her face down yet you can see she is glowing with happiness and embarrassment*

Naruto: *puzzled as hell and is staring at her flabbergasted*

Rock Lee(confessional): I have been helping Hinata face her crush on Naruto. She needs to learn how to not be so timid and use her Power of Youth! Though, she may have lost control of it back there. *embarrassed chuckle*

(scene change to somewhere outside the forest)

Beast Boy: *walks on-screen with a sad face and sad music playing* Hey, Beast Boy here. You see, sometimes, teams just don't get along. So, the producers and I thought that the best way to work through the group friction would be, *smiles* to exploit it for laughs. This is gonna be awesome! *scene changes to Beast Boy and the contestants on the dock* Ok campers, last challenge exposed some Gopher issues. *Sissi glares at Yumi and Ino and vise-versa* And though it's not as obvious, I'm sensing something funky floating in the Bass pond too. So, today's challenge is gonna be about building trust, because all good things start with a little trust.

Mayu: *facepalms* Just kill me now.

Yumi(confessional): I trusted Ulrich once. He left me buried alive on the beach.

Mayu(confessional): Is there any way to get away with suicide?

Beast Boy: There'll be three challenges that have to be completed by two members of you team. And, as a special treat, I'll be choosing your partners!

Mayu: Seriously can I just jump off the dock? It's an honest question.

Beast Boy: Leave your suicidal tendencies to after the challenge...and maybe a therapist. *sweatdrop*

(scene change to everyone at the wall of a cliff)

Beast Boy: Your first challenge is a rock climbing adventure! Naruto and Sasuke will play for the Bass.

Sasuke: Oh, you have got to be kidding. I have to work with this loser? *points at Naruto*

Naruto: I've got to work with this son of a-- *Mayu and Sakura slap him on both sides of the head and he sea-weed falls to the ground and groans* ...What'd I say?

Beast Boy: *eyebrow raise* Regardless of Naruto's mouth, Sissi and Yumi, you'll play for the Gophers.

Sissi: What?! *scoffs* No way!

Mayu: *rubs at her temples* Please stop talking. Your voice makes my head scream.

Beast Boy: Now, here are your belay and harnesses. *throws them to them* Here's how they work. One camper pulls the rope through the belay while the other climbs. If the climber falls, the belay will catch them. The person on belay will also harness their partner up. *the groups of two glare at each other* And remember: Never let go of the rope! Your partner's life depends on it.

Yumi: Yeah....can I switch partners? I really don't feel like getting dropped on my head today.

Sissi: Please, as much as I'd like to, I'm not going to throw a challenge just to kill you...yet. Now spread them!

(over at the Bass)

Sasuke: *is hooking up Naruto's harness* Ugh, I can't believe I have to do this.

Naruto: Well this isn't my idea of fun either. OW! Watch what you're doing!

Sasuke: I could if you would stop moving!

Naruto: Ow! That's it! *turns to tackle Sasuke but Beast Boy takes hold of Naruto's cable and pulls him away from Sasuke*

Beast Boy: Yeah...that's not what co-operation means.

(scene change to the Gophers)

Sissi: There. All set up.

Yumi: *sees an additional rope* What's the second rope for?

Sissi: Oh, just a backup line.

Yumi: *eyes suspiciously* What are you up to?

Sissi: Nothing, stop being so paranoid.

Yumi: *continues eyeing suspiciously but walks off to the cliff wall*

Sissi(confessional): *laughs evilly*

(both teams of two are at cliff wall, ready to climb)

Beast Boy: Alright, now before you go, remember, we there are a few obstacles like: Rusty nails, slippery oil slicks, and....a few other surprises. *mischievous smile* Now, GO!!

(Naruto and Yumi start climbing)

Yumi: *climbs further ahead than Naruto when--EXPLOSION* WHOA! *screams* AAAAAH! *falls but then stops midway thanks to Sissi* Ugh!

Sissi: I've got you!

Yumi: What the heck was that Beast Boy?!

Beast Boy: Hey, I said there were surprises. Speaking of which, STAMPEDE! *turns into a ram and runs towards Sissi and Sasuke*

Sissi: What? AH! *gets knocked off her feet by Beast Boy to a few feet away causing her to let go of the rope*

Yumi: Whoa! AAAAH! *falls to the ground* OW!

Beast Boy: *still as a ram, starts running towards Sasuke*

Sasuke: *ninja jumps just as Beast Boy gets to him causing Beast Boy to run into a nearby tree*

Beast Boy:  *turns back to normal and groans with swirly eyes now* Ugh, duuuude. *falls to the ground*

Sasuke: Hmph, gonna have to do better than that.

Naruto:  *on cliff* Nice one, Sasuke!

Sasuke: Just keep climbing!

Naruto: Huh? Oh, right! *continues climbing*

(time skip)

Sissi: Hurry up Yumi! You don't want to fall, 'behind'. *pulls on her second rope causing a patch of Yumi's pants to rip off, exposing her underwear*

Yumi: What the? *looks and sees what happened, eyes widen and she yells*

Naruto: Huh? *patch lands on face* D'ah! *takes it off his face and sees her underwear* Whoa! *has a mini freakout and falls letting go of the patch and Yumi grabs it* AAAH!

Sasuke: *loses grip on the rope* Huh? *looks up* Oh great. *Naruto lands right on top of him* Uuugh, get off me idiot.

Naruto: *sarcastically* Yeah, because this is my fault!

Yumi: *tries to cover herself but then stops* Oh forget it. *continues climbing and finally makes it to the top*

Beast Boy: And the Gophers win the first challenge!

Yumi: Yes! *looks down and sees she's still exposed then covers herself* Ugh.

(scene change to inside the mess hall where Naruto and Hinata for the Bass and Ulrich and Aelita for the Gophers are seen with Beast Boy)

Beast Boy: And now for your second challenge: Cooking!

Naruto: *question mark above head appears and fades out* Uh, didn't we just have a cooking challenge?

Beast Boy: Your point? *awkward silence as Naruto just stares at him confused* Exactly. Now, before we begin, each pair needs to decide who cooks, and who eats.

Naruto: *to Hinata* Well, I was Head Chef last time, maybe you should do it.

Hinata: O-Oh...um, sure. *blushes*

Aelita: *to Ulrich* I guess I could give it a shot.

Ulrich: Sure, why not? I can't really cook anyways.

Beast Boy: Today you'll be cooking Fugu Sashimi, the traditional Japanese poisonous blowfish.

Jim: *comes onscreen while pushing a cart with a tank that has two blowfish in it*

Beast Boy: *shown in Chibi form with glasses on, a pointing stick, and a blackboard with a diagram of the blowfish on it in the background* The Fugu Blowfish has enough lethal toxin to kill, thirty people. *Jim tosses the pairs their blowfish* They must be sliced veeery carefully to cut around the poisonous organs. The poison paralyzes the nerves, and there is no antidote! So no worries. *smiles nonchalantly*

Ulrich: *looks nervous* You sure you can do this Aelita?

Aelita: Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be that hard. *pokes blowfish with a knife and it deflates* Oops...

Ulrich: *gulps*

(time skip as both pairs have finished cooking)

Hinata: *sets plate down and her Fugu Sashimi looks like traditional sushi rolls* Done. H-Here you go, Naruto. *pushes plate towards him*

Naruto: *picks one of the rolls up*

Hinata: *looks at Naruto scared with her hands over her mouth*

Naruto: *gives her a reassuring smile and eats the sushi*

Everyone: *waits for something to happen*

Naruto: *nothing happens and he smiles* It's good! *thumbs up*

Hinata: *gives a relieved smile and cut to confessional* Thank goodness I didn't kill Naruto! I don't know what I would have done if anything happened to him because of me.

Beast Boy: Nice one Hinata. Aelita, you're up.

Aelita: *gives Ulrich her plate which has a mashed up mess of the blowfish*

Ulrich: *gulps then grabs a fork and takes a bite of the food*

Aelita: *looks at nervously*

Ulrich: *nothing happens and he looks back and forth then smiles* Well alright then.

Aelita: *smiles too*

Ulrich: *eyes widen as his stomach grumbles* Uh-oh. *falls to the ground*

Everyone: *gasps*

Aelita: Ulrich! Are you ok?! *looks down at him*

Ulrich: *is shown twitching, choking, and spitting up on the ground*

Aelita: *gasps* What do we do?!

Beast Boy: Don't worry, just give him the rest of the day and he'll be good as new.

Naruto: We can't just leave him like that!

Jim: I've got him. *picks him up and leaves with everyone else nervously looking at them*

Aelita(confessional): Oh I knew I should have taken out the blackish pieces from the blowfish. *facepalms*

(seen change to Beast Boy and the contestants minus Ulrich outside the forest area)

Beast Boy: Alright campers, your final challenge is actually three separate challenges! I'd like to call them, the Three Blind Challenges. They start with the Blind William Tell, followed by the Blind Trapeze Act, and finally the Blind Toboggan Race. For the first challenge, like the great marksman William Tell, you'll be knocking arrows off your partner's head with crab apples.

Herb: Uh, I believe it was the other way around.

Beast Boy: Shush! Also, the shooter will be blindfolded. *pulls out a blindfold* Hence the Three "Blind" Challenges.

Everyone: *gasps*

Beast Boy: First person to knock the arrow off their partner's head wins. Ino and Choji will play for the Gophers, Milly and Sakura for the Bass.

Milly: Can I shoot? I'm a great shot!

Sakura: *raises eyebrow* I don't know...

Milly: Come on please? *pouty face*

Sakura: *sighs* Fine.

(Ino and Milly are blindfolded and given slingshots and apples while Sakura and Choji stand a little ways away with an arrow on their heads)

Beast Boy: Begin!

Ino and Milly: *start shooting apples at Choji and Sakura but are missing the arrows*

Choji: *is practically unaffected as he keeps getting pelted with apples*

Sakura:  *is also getting hit by apples* Ow! *gets hit* Ugh! *gets hit* Ah! *gets hit* Watch it!

Ino: *after some time passes she shoots one more apple and it goes through the arrow, knocking it off Choji's head*

Choji: Whoa! Way to go Ino!

Ino: Huh? Did I hit it? *raises blindfold*

Milly: Ugh. I know I can do this. *prepares slingshot*

Beast Boy: Dude! Ino already won!

Milly: *starts shooting more apples*

Sakura: Milly, it's over already-- *gets hit* OW! *continues getting hit* Ow! Stop it already!

Beast Boy: *grabs Milly* Dude, it's over! Let it go!

Milly: Huh? *takes off blindfold* Oh, s-sorry Sakura. *sheepishly smiles*

Sakura: *is dizzy from the knocks to the head* You're....going down....*groans and passes out*

(scene change to a contraption over a pond)

Beast Boy: Next up, the Blind Trapeze! As you can see the Trapeze is set up over this pond....which by the way is filled with jellyfish. *everyone makes mixed gasps and comments* Herb and Mayu, Aelita and Sissi, you'll be the pairs. Mayu and Sissi, you two will be on the platforms blindfolded until your partners tell you to jump.

Sissi: And then?

Beast Boy: Then you better hope they catch you. Or that'll be one painful swim. *laughs a little*

Mayu: *chuckles with a mischievous look in her eyes and looks at Sissi, sending a small wave of Chidori down her own arm for a brief moment, her voice in a mocking tone* Don't fall in Delmas. *starts walking towards the platform then stops after passing up Herb* And as for you, *angrily points at him* don't even think about dropping me.

Herb: *gulps*

(time skip with Aelita and Sissi are going first in the challenge)

Sissi: *is blindfolded on platform* Aelita, I swear if you drop me!

Aelita: *is swinging on the trapeze* Don't worry, I've got you.

Sissi: *growls annoyed*

Aelita: Alright, one...two...three...jump!

Sissi: *jumps off but misses by a long shot and falls in the jellyfish pond* AAAH! *is continuously getting shocked*

Aelita: *looks down with a surprised look* Oops?

Mayu: *is on the platform but without the blindfold on yet and she laughs* Told you not to fall in! *continues laughing as Sissi is still screaming in the background*

Everyone: *is shown with horrified faces though Ino and Yumi are shown high-fiving in the process*

Aelita(confessional): *worried look* I swear, I thought I would catch Sissi. I didn't mean to cause her to fall. *looks back and forth then gives a satisfied smile* ...But it was funny pretty funny right?

Mayu:  *stops laughing* Alright, let's get this over with. *puts blind fold on and jumps*

Herb:  *is swinging on the trapeze* Wait! Mayu I didn't say-- *Mayu grabs his arms and he keeps his grip on her* ...jump. Wow, how'd you do that?

Mayu: All a part of being a ninja.

Beast Boy: And after that "shocking" development, the Bass win this challenge!

Sissi: *is still heard screaming in the pond* A little-- AH! Help-- OW!

(scene change to another area near the forest with a big hill)

Beast Boy: And now for the final tiebreaking challenge, the Blind Toboggan Race! Each pair will have a driver and a navigator. The driver will steer while the navigator shouts directions. Oh yeah, and the driver will be blindfolded. *everyone groans* Hmm...well Sakura, Sissi, and Ulrich are in the infirmary....man I keep losing you people. So uh, Naruto and Lee will play for Bass and Yumi and Ino for Gophers.

(time skip to the pairs on top of the large hill)

Naruto: You ready for this Bushy-Brow?

Rock Lee: I am always ready to work my hardest in a challenge of Youth!

Naruto: *overenthusiastically* Well alright!

Rock Lee: *starts chanting* Youth! Youth! Youth! Youth!

Naruto: *joins in* Youth! Youth! Youth! Youth!

Ino and Yumi: *look at them in disbelief as Ino sweatdrops*

Yumi: Those two are really high energy aren't they?

Ino: You don't know the half of it.

(time skip again this time as the pairs are on their toboggans with Ino and Lee as the blindfolded drivers and Yumi and Naruto as the navigators)

Beast Boy: On your marks, get set, go! *he and Jim push the toboggans and their passengers down the hill*

Yumi: *as they are going down the hill* Right! Left!

Ino: *moves toboggan accordingly*

Naruto: Right!

Rock Lee: *moves toboggan to the left*

Naruto: Your other right!

Rock Lee: *sweatdrops and tries to move the toboggan to the right but the hit a rock ramp and soar through the air* Huh? What is going on?

Naruto: *nervously* Oh nothing.....just getting some fresh air...

Yumi: Looks like we might win this one. Left!

Naruto: *him and Lee land back on the ground a little ahead of them* Don't count on it! Right!

Yumi: Let's pick up the pace! Right! Left!

Naruto: Right! Right! Left!

Rock Lee: *moves accordingly then all of a sudden an explosion is heard*

Naruto: Ah! *eyes bulge out, completely whit and he grabs onto Rock Lee*

Rock Lee: What was that noise?!

Beast Boy: *is shown holding a detonator and he looks at the camera* What? We had a few explosives left over. *laughs and detonates some more*

Naruto and Yumi: *are heard shouting directions over the multiple explosions*

Yumi: Right! Left-- *explosion happens right under them and they are shot way into the air, toboggan still intact* AAH!

Naruto: *looks up and laughs* Alright! Left! Right!

Killer Bass: *are down at the finish line and are cheering as Naruto and Lee are closing in*

Aelita and Choji: *are the only other Gophers present and are shown to be worried*

Bass: *are still cheering but then stop and look at the sky as they hear a noise*

Ino and Yumi: *land right on the finish line just before Naruto and Lee slide to a stop*

Bass: *mouths are open agape in shock*

Aelita and Choji: *are also shocked but then cheer and run over to Ino and Yumi

Ino: *gets up and takes off blindfold just as she gets hugged by Choji* Huh? Did we win?

Beast Boy: Yep! The Gophers win immunity!

Gophers: *cheer as the injured contestants are shown rejoining their teams*

Sissi: We actually won for once? Yay! *hugs Ulrich who is still partially paralyzed from earlier and in a wheelchair*

Beast Boy: Killer Bass, your winning streak ends here. I'll see you at elimination. *walks off and the Bass are shown to be disappointed*

(Bonfire Ceremony)

Beast Boy: Who's ready for yet another bonfire ceremony? Hungry for some marshmallows? Well too bad for one of you dudes because--

Mayu:  Just get on with it!

Beast Boy: *appears behind Mayu in a distorted anime form and starts talking fast* And if you don't get a marshmallow you'll have to walk the Dock of Shame and never come back. *gets in her face with a goofy yet slightly pissed off smile* EVER!

Mayu: *glares*

Beast Boy: Let's see here, we've got one for Sasuke, one for Hinata, and one Mayu. *tosses them their marshmallows* Herb, Rock Lee, and Naruto, you dudes get some too. *tosses them their marshmallows* And it looks like we only have one marshmallow left. Sakura and Milly, the final marshmallow, goes to......

Milly: *looks at Sakura worriedly*

Sakura: *glares at her then cuts to confessional* No one gives me a concussion and gets away with it.

Milly: *looks back at Beast Boy*

Mayu: Ugh, come on. We aren't getting any younger here.

Beast Boy: Hey, the viewers eat up this kind of suspense so just let me do my job!

Mayu: *rolls eyes*

Beast Boy: ........................Sakura. *throws it to her*

Sakura: *looks satisfied at Milly and catches the marshmallow*

Milly: *gets up angry yet sad* Fine then. Be that way! *starts tearing up and runs to the dock while some of the others look worried*

Beast Boy: The rest of you are safe....for now that is.

Sakura: *eats her marshmallow and mockingly waves by to Milly*

(scene change to Milly walking the Dock of Shame)

Milly: *is shown still upset when the Boat of Losers drives up with a familiar face riding in it*

???: Milly!

Milly: *looks up* Tamiya?! *squeals and runs onto the boat and hugs her* I missed you so much!

Tamiya: I missed you too! *they continue excitedly hugging each other as the episode ends*
