H.P. Lovecraft made two sketches of Cthulhu for correspondents. I used these sketches as the basis for this sculpture. Original is made from Super Sculpy and I've made copies with resin available. They are painted black/green with gold highlights. They are 7 3/4 inches tall.

Shub Niggurath - The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young. Sculpture based on the creation of H.P. Lovecraft. Original in Super Sculpey; this a painted resin casting. 'Documents' help create a feeling of verisimilitude. I make copies of the figures in resin. They're around 9 1/2 inches tall.

Cult of Cthulhu Dagger

Dagger recovered in a police raid of a Cthulhu Cult group in the wooded swamps to the south of New Orleans in March of 1925. It has an ivory colored handle with steel blade, and is similar in materials and design to a dagger recovered from a Cultist in an raid in the same area in 1908. The sheaths of both dagger bear the same winged star cult symbol. Dagger is slightly over 12 inches long.

Based on the literary creation of H.P. Lovecraft.

H.P. Lovecraft – The Terrible Old Man

“…curious folk who sometimes steal up to the house to peer in through the dusty panes. These folk say that on a table in a bare room on the ground floor are many peculiar bottles, in each a small piece of lead suspended pendulum-wise from a string. And they say that the Terrible Old Man talks to these bottles, addressing them by such names as Jack, Scar-Face, Long Tom, Spanish Joe, Peters, and Mate Ellis, and that whenever he speaks to a bottle the little lead pendulum within makes certain definite vibrations as if in answer.”

What these curious folk described as ‘small pieces of lead’, seen as they were at a distance through dusty panes of glass were actually likenesses of the crew the Terrible Old Man had fashioned, and with certain arcane machinations had endowed with special properties. Late at night they can sometimes be heard arguing amongst themselves, ringing gently against the sides of the bottles. Upon inspection they hang still.

Each of the crew are about ¾” in size, cast in resin and suspended in ‘aged’ bottles 5 ½” tall.

The Cthulhu Cultist Dagger - Typical of that found in the smaller cult groups. I made the original handle from super sculpy, made a mold, and made a resin casting around a blade. The resin is an ivory color so I just used an acrylic wash to age it. The blade has been aged and stained . I made the sheath from thin maroon leather that I aged, and added the cult symbol. Dagger is 12" long overall, and the blade is 7 1/2".

The King in Yellow - Based on Robert Chambers book and
drawing. I made this from super sculpy then painted and aged it to look like an artifact. I'm making copies in resin. It's about 9"X9" . H.P. Lovecraft mentions 'The Yellow Sign' in his works and the character has been incorporated into the 'Call of Cthulhu' game.

Hoard of copper tokens recently discovered buried in a clay pot near Lydford in Devon probably dating to 997 when the village, known for its coinage, was plundered by the Danes. Images include Cthulhu, and two versions of the so called 'Elder Sign' .

When I pour resin I always make a little more than I need so created some tokens and made molds of them for my excess. They start to pile up after a time. They're about 1 1/2" in diameter, and the image is only on one side. They're painted copper and 'aged' with green paint.
