Another day, another cover. This is the variant cover to Wolverine and the X-Men #4 depicting 3 of the X-Men infected with the Venom symbiote. In this case, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, and Iceman. Penciled and inked on Bristol board and colored in photoshop.

Hope you dig!

X-Men: Screwin' Around
[X-Men #200]

I think I finally got a handle on how Corel Painter works with layers. This one had a lot of layer work. It's why I had put this one off. I do really like how the background work came out.
Surprises of surprises. This one DOESN'T star Emma Frost. I know!

This is from issue #200 of "X-Men". This is the infamous issue where Mystique and Iceman consummated their relationship. I thought it was funny how no one else in the house seemed to hear anything, but I have a dirty mind.
If you haven't read X-Men in a while and you don't know who the first two girls are. The blond is Regan Wyngarde, Lady Mastermind. The daughter of the original Mastermind. The robotic girl is Karima Shapandar, Omega Sentinel.

This one was actually a double fake. I make you think it's going to be sexual, but in fact it's just Iceman and Mystique screwing around with everyone in the house making them think they did.
I kind of like this gag and Lady Mastermind. I may use something like this in the future that deals with events that happened just before this in the comics. The scene of Mystique and Iceman's kiss.

Enjoy and I hope to read your thoughts.

The idea behind this painting is that X-Men villain Magneto has just taken out a Sentinel and is now using his powers to essentially reanimate it as a "chariot" of sorts as he declares war on some unfortunate party off-screen.

The X-men battle the sentinels in Genosha...template of what I wanted to draw but was too lazy to finish..

Sprites are property of Capcom, characters are from marvel
some are fan made, some made by me, over all picture was arrange and enhanced by me

This is the well known cover to X-Men: ALPHA by Joe Mad and myself. This was arguably the most well known image in comics through the latter 90's. This scan is attrocious, I know. I actually own the original and its been framed and hanging on my wall for years. I dont want to take it out of the frame so Im stuck with this horrible scan.

A little bit of trivia. This was actually the first time I ever worked with Joe and the first cover I ever inked in my career. Furthermore, it was a big rush job and I was asked to do finishes on it. The sentinels were completely drawn by me and much of the background elements were finished by me. Nothing like a little pressure. After seeing this cover, Joe and the powers-that-be at Marvel decided to team us up on the Uncanny X-Men. Obviously, this cover has a ton of sentimental value for me.

My Entry for Battle Artist.

This weeks topic was Gambit from the X-men. I originally had only Gambit battling the Sentinel, but I was having so much fun with this piece I wanted to add more!!! so I added in Cyclops, Wolverine and Nightcrawler and Magneto on top controlling the Sentinel. Anybody that knows or sees my stuff, I like the MORE IS MORE approach, I was advised against it from my fellow friends and brother, I can't help it :P haha (I have a problem).
