I said I'd give you an update on my work. Here's the update.

My next series, The Clockwork Sky, will be out in September 2012. It's a prequel to Hollow Fields, set in late Victorian London, and featuring a ragtag cast of eclectic, occasionally steam-driven characters, at least one of whom may appear somewhat familiar to Hollow Fields readers! A sinister conspiracy lies at the heart of London's newest advances in steambot technology, and only a troubled teenage tearaway and her law-abiding policebot friend have the lack of common sense to get mixed up in it all!

Also, it has cogcycles. How it killed me to illustrate them. Appreciate my work, minions!

More information in weeks to come!

Photoshop CS2, Painter 12, Manga Studio EX 4.

Human Dan(Evil Danny, Dark Danny, etc) and Clockwork-with Clockwork in his child form for added annoyance to Dan 8D
This was actually done for a contest at :iconshattered-time-love:. I almost didn't get it in but LO AND BEHOLD~! A deadline extension~!
Now the thing was everyone was pretty much going for a romantic theme from what I could tell so I thought 'Let's go cute/fluffy/platonic' and then this idea was born :'D
They almost look like brothers... too bad Dan's probably too irritated to enjoy the fact he could exploit this to the max. Does he realize how many girls just LOVE hot bad boy single fathers?
The perspective on that bench is atrocious :'D

Finally a piece which isn't too personal. I'm will probably use this one as a work sample for a artschool I'm applying for.

I have one version were the actual clockwork is in a goldish color. I couldn't decide which to submit so I figured "Less is more", so here you have it.
I changed my mind. My brother thought that the goldy version looked better so I'll upload that one instread. Hope you still like it. ; u ;

I must say I'm a little proud over this one. C&C are appreciated~

WOW! Over 1000 views! * O *;

This idea was inspired by the book Clockwork Heart by Dru Pagliassotti.

To make this photo, I took apart an antique windup wrist watch and placed the internal gear piece inside of a heart locket. The watch piece does work (if you wind it up the gears will move), but it is not physically attached to the locket; more precisely, it is merely resting atop of the locket. I have now reassembled the watch (since I still want to be able to wear it on my wrist), and the locket is once again empty.

The background on which the locket is laying is actually a gift bag. I took the shot from above pointing the lens down. I used two lamps with one positioned really close on the right side, creating the bright spot you can see in the top corner of the image.

The composition isn't perfect. The watch piece is a bit large and I would have preferred it to fit more neatly into the locket, but I didn't want to take the gears apart in fear that I wouldn't be able to put it all back together again. Nonetheless, I'm quite happy with how the overall image turned out.

Seems my Photoshop's been acting up-so I had to uninstall it, a little frustrated at now having no digital art program-until I remembered my Tablet came with Painter and Photoshop elements :U
Holy crap. Painter's awesome-as you can see with this picture of Clockwork I painted in it XD Originally done as practice, I think I may start using Painter more often from time to time.

Yes a little clockwork orange inspired. But she had these cool eyelashes, and then we thought of a cool concept just to run by.

It turned out a success, this is the second time we shot, it always comes out good, and we have fun setting everything up and shooting. She's a cool chick.
