Guys...I understand if you don't want to stick around during the credits, so I'll tell you here, too:
Music: 1. Beethoven "Moonlight Sonata" 2. Patrick Cassidy "Vide Cor Meum"

one thing, though: How does the question 'What music is playing during the credits?' even happen?? :XD:

---------------------------------------------------------

I haven't done anything like this before, but it was actually fun. Frustrating at times, but fun overall.

Okay, so this is Severus Snape's story - from childhood to the very end.
It's a... well, it's my interpretation of it. I hope it's not too confusing. =S

It's over 2000 pictures I drew in Gimp... months of work! +head meets desk+
I'm so glad it's finished. Thought I would never finish it - so this is me happy

Hope you like it a little and thanks for watching!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Edit:
:faint: Thank you so much for the DD!! And all those kind comments and favs - many, many thanks to all of you! I can't express how grateful I am.

Here's my entry for :iconspinners--end:'s Thank you/Happy Birthday Challenge.
It really *was* a challenge, because I couldn't throw in my usual angsty, easy-to-work-with-stuff ;P
Anyway, I couldn't quite decide what I wanted him to have, so I give...plenty. =) (I feel like one of those fairies from sleeping beauty. hehe)
I made him a little bit *fangirlish* on purpose here, because of the subject; though I didn't want it to be over the top.
Most important the vanishing Dark Mark, of course. +sigh+ I wish that would have been possible for him.
It may sound strange, but I think I'm not alone with this anyway, so, I really am thankful for this character taught me a lot and therefore I love this challenge and I honestly agree with it's topic: "Thank you, Severus"!

Harry Potter FanArt; Severus Snape
(I usually forget to write this =D )

I spent too much time on the background - then I had to cover it all in snow. Depressing. Stupid me.^^
Also... is it just me or does my raven look like a penguin? :XD: It got confused with the snow. ;P

If you want to know what it means to me:
"If you look a raven in the eye for too long it will steal your soul and fly away with it." I wish I could remember where I heard that... anyway, that was my main concept here.
(ps. I remember that I tried it. Either it doesn't work or I just didn't notice.^^ )

(note: yeah, well, I guess, nobody would willingly drink Veritaserum, but lets play with the idea a little, however =D )

Would you use Veritaserum on yourself? Think about it.
I can only speak for myself, but I know, I must be lying to myself sometimes and sometimes I'm sure my subconsciousness keeps things from me as well.
There are things you know about yourself - probably only subconsciously - but you don't want to acknowledge them.
Would you really REALLY want to know who you are? Everything about this person you see in the mirror everyday. Even the thoughts you usually keep far back in your mind - far away from your awareness.
I don't know if I would want to know everything. Seriously, think about it. It's an eerie thought.
We all have problems that bother us. What if we know (somewhere deep inside) that it will NEVER be solved? Would we want to know that? It would kill all doubt and along all hope. The answer could also please us, but is just the possibility worth the risk of losing the benefit of doubt?
I think...I'd probably refuse. I don't think I want to know myself that well. Maybe I wouldn't like the person showing herself.
A general example: Sometimes I hate myself (and I'm pretty sure everybody does. sometimes!) but I know it's always just the heat of the moment - not real.
Now what if it turns out it IS real? And we just push that hate aside most of the time to survive? I wouldn't want to know!
Sometimes lying to ourselves is maybe even necessary. Like people whose life is really bad - i.e. people who are starving. Maybe they tell themselves things will change and everything will be great. Could be true. ...but what if in their hearts they believe it's not. Wouldn't that kill any will to keep going?
My questions would be totally unimportant, small and maybe even silly in comparison. I live a good life. but maybe knowing myself too well would be too much, however?

You know the quote? 'Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom.'
It also takes a very brave person to be entirely honest with him- or herself!
As for me; maybe one day...but not today.

Enough of the :blahblah: ^^;

(If you're curious for what I intended to draw, here's a short summary; but that's just my view of it. if you get a different message - that would be great! =)
So, here are my thoughts:
I wanted an eagle as a symbol for courage, a slice of apple [yeah, it's supposed to be a slice of an apple] for awareness and a hare[looks more like a pet bunny lol] for caution. by that I do not mean 'cowardice'! big difference.)

FanArt - Harry Potter - Severus Snape

Inspired by "Quasimodo" by Lifehouse [link]
(the title is also a part from the lyrics)
Listen to it, it's a beautiful song. And while you're at it, "Halfway Gone" was also on my playlist during the drawing process. =) [link]
(Lifehouse, yeah! Awesome band - and they have some good ones for the Snape-Playlist =D )

There is a lot (like a lot, a lot, a lot!) in this one that I really don't like at all. But I'm so glad with the hair on the right side (seen from our perspective) of his head!
Unfortunately the rest wasn't quite as willing to cooperate...
+deep, dramatic sigh+ YOU, SNAPE, why?!
(I think it's not snape enough...will try to remember that next time!)

Oh, btw: When I was done I realized how it *could* look like the background is like heaven on the left, hell on the right. This wasn't intended, but well - I confuse myself frequently.
What I intended was just Hogwarts in flames (because I was probably too lazy or to poorly skilled (more likely the latter ;P ) to draw the battle. Fire = battle, then.^^) Yeah, here, snake for Voldie, phoenix for the heroes. (at first I thought 'lion', but that wouldn't have included the other houses well enough. Me thinks.)
It could seem selfish to just turn your back on the rest of your people, but what good would it do to stick around as some kind of ghost (not stating facts here, just playing with an idea and nothing more ;) ) Death, oblivion. Nothing he can do anymore, so why care at all? (did you listen to the songs? Most important Quasimodo. Do it if you haven't yet. +grins+)
However, like always: Your eyes are right, your mind is right, your opinion is right. =)

I thought, 'This time I won't write a whole novel for a description. No need to write much anyway' What is wrong with me? Why can't I type a nice short note and not a page full of unimportant babbling. grmlhmmnh.
Hope you'll forgive me the mistakes in the drawing.

My second piece for :iconspinners--end:'s Thank you, Severus challenge.

Well,...maybe it's just that; a casual and simple recognition. Nothing big or special...just that. =)

Severus and Eileen.
I got the idea for this while working on the next animation and had to to do it. ...looked better in my head. ;P
Though I think I improved with nails...don't know.
Also Eileen intrigues me - I feel sorry for her, but then sometimes I'm so mad at her. It's a tragical story. Exactly the kind of thing I could muse over for days. =D

The first time I used stock images for reference - how awesome are stock images!? =D

Reference:
Severus: [link] from :iconsarahebear-stock:
Eileen: [link] from :iconfantasystock:
Thistle: vaguely [link] from :iconfalln-stock:
unrecognizable Poppy: a photo my Mom took ;)

Gimp, tablet. Time?

Edit: Oh, I always forget to mention: Recently I started adding birthmarks, freckles and such to the characters. (To me Sev and Eileen seem to be likely to have birthmarsks...) Since nobody said anything about that yet I suppose it doesn't look all bad. =D

At first I was very happy with how Snape turned out here, but after some time I think, ugh, that's a bit too fangirlish... =S But oh well... I'll try to keep that in mind so it won't happen again. ;P
I did most of this on my old computer and just finished it on the new one - looked much better on the old one with the smaller screen and strange colours. xD
Anyway, I also wanted to draw an actual background for once and not just make everything black (though I really like the dreary, simple ones) but I don't know if that really works for me...
So, it's about guilt following Snape everywhere - omnipresent and he can't get rid of it. I think that's how he feels, always bugged by horrible memories and unable to forget...

wacom, gimp

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention: on the right --> Lily. =D
And now that I said it in the comments already: there's this oddly shaped cloud above Sev's head; it's supposed to be the disguised sword of Damocles - the bad things from his past, ready to crush him any minute; I think that can make one got insane - never knowing when the inevitable will eventually happen.
