The Opening of the Stephen StrasburgThis Tuesday the Washington Nationals are bringing up their highly touted rookie pitcher, Stephen Strasburg. The baseball world is all a buzz with terms like "can't miss".. So can the kid live up to the hype? Should he have to? To both questions my answer is no.
To live up to this type of build up the kid will have to throw a no-hitter and strike out 20 batters in his debut against the Pirates on Tuesday night. It's not fair to throw terms like that around on a young player. Let's just watch how he does and let him grow as a major league pitcher.
Do I think he might be awfully good? Yes, most definitely. I saw him at San Diego State and he was about as good a college pitcher as I've seen in my life. I also saw him this past March
