The Whaling Wars of Southern Kareba
Outline: The Whaling Wars were a sequence of localised conflicts and confrontations occurring between the Coastal Kareba polities and seafaring tribes stemming from the Kasiga Bronzeworking cultures. Despite their titular focus on whaling activities, these engagements encompassed a broader spectrum of hostilities, including acts of piracy and the disruption of maritime trade routes within the region. Though major conflicts occurred from approximately 1976 BP to 1948 BP, small skirmishes were fought over several of the preceding decades, subsiding only after the depletion of key whaling grounds along the Kareba coast, which significantly diminished the maritime trade of the Southern Kareba Civilisation and the livelihoods of the Southern Port Cities.
