SCP 3099-1 Codename: the Hook Class: Keter Description: SCP 3099-1 is a silver hand hook of unknown age Effects: Anyone who wears SCP 3099-1, designated 3099-2, becomes an indiscriminate killer, and after that person dies SCP 3099-1 will detach itself from the body and seek out the last person to make contact with the previous wearer, cut off one of their hands and place itself on the stub Backstory: Back in the 1940's in (data expunged) several people were brutally murdered, the murders went on for months and there was no pattern to the murders, the victims ranged adults to children. No one ever saw the killer's face but witnesses claimed there was a hook on their right hand, so the killer was dubbed the Hookman. The murders continued for 15 year's and the police were nowhere closer to finding the Hookman. Until one day the body of a homeless person with a missing hand and a severed hand found next to the body. Police assumed this person was the Hookman and declared the case closed ingoring the fact that there was no hook found and the severed hand looked to belong to someone much younger, and a few days after they closed the case the murders started again. They continued for 20 year's until the police received an anonymous tip that the new Hookman was seen entering an abandoned house outside town. The police immediately went to the house and entered, after entering one officer was attacked and the other shot the Hookman killing him! The officer then went to check on his injured friend, he was still alive so he took him out and drove him to the hospital. On the drive the officer noticed the other was awfully quiet, he didn't even seem to care about his shoulder wound, and about halfway down the road the other officer jumped out of the car, the officer that was driving then claimed he saw the Hook man's hook fly towards the officer, cut off his hand and place itself on the stub! The other officer was too stunned to react, and just as he was about to attack he was subdued by foundation agents! He was taken into custody and the other officer was given amnestics. Experiment: 3099-2 was observed for several days, scientist's tried communicating with him but he was completely savage. Then the scientist's decided to terminate him, they used poison gas so no one would be there for 3099-1 to attach itself to. But right after he died 3099-1 removed itself, and cut through the chamber wall, despite the fact that it was made of reinforced steel! Then attached itself to one of the agents that captured 3099-2! Fortunately the agent was captured before he could hurt anyone. Containment: The agent couldn't be terminated because 3099-1 would just find a new host so the O5 council decided that 3099-2 be placed in cryogenic stasis, because as long as he was alive 3099-1 wouldn't have to find a new host. This containment method seems to work but there have been several incident's over the years. For example, during a containment breach the power went out and the current 3099-2 died and 3099-1 attached itself to the last scientist to check on the cryogenics chamber. There have been several other similar incident's, and no matter what other measures we use to try and stop 3099-1 it doesn't seem to work, it can cut through any material in it's way and even other anomalies can't seem to stop it, they can only slow it down at most. We've tried not having anyone go near the chamber and only monitoring it through drones but then it attaches itself to a random person.
