(it starts with Ian sitting until Ellie comes inside all worn out) Ellie: Phew! That was a lot of work. Ian: Hey Ellie, are you alright? Ellie: Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired, that's all. Ian: I see. Well I was gonna head outside to do something while you relax. Ellie: Good idea, buddy. (she yawns and falls asleep) Ian: (tiptoes out the door) (Later, Ian walks around trying to find something to do, until he sees Louisa washing a window) Ian: Hey Louisa. What are you doing? Louisa: (turns and faces Ian) Hi Ian. I was just helping my moms wash the windows of our house. I was just finishing up. Ian: I see. (just then Leiko goes up to Ian and Louisa) Leiko: Well done Louisa, these windows look nice and clean as a whistle. (she gives Louisa three coins) Here you are, you've earned it. Louisa: Wow! Thanks. Ian: (is surprised) You can do that? Leiko: (turns to Ian) Yeah, by helping any of the grownups here in the Treeborhood. Louisa: (turns to Ian) Did you not know
Calvin tapped his foot against the concrete curb outside the school, clicking his teeth together as he let out an annoyed groan. Everyone else from his class had already been picked up and here he was, still waiting for a ride.
"I should have known," he grumbled when he saw his sister Lily's car pull up. She rolled down her passenger side window and grinned sarcastically.
"Were you supposed to get here at noon? I thought it was 1," Lily laughed as Calvin threw his bag into her back seat and got in next to her. "So technically, I'm early."
"Ha ha," Calvin said, enunciating each part. "Do you always have to screw around with me like this?"
