Chapter 3 Ozoc kept guard through the djungle-night. His mutated eyes glowed dimly as they were watching the broken door to the outside in the semidarkness of their camplight. Not that he needed the survival-lamp which was creating long shades from his spikey hair on the broken glass close to it. It stood placed next to his sister where she slept on the floor. He just imagined the faint blue electric light would help to scare of possible predators that would be stalking them. He remembered the monstrous tracks in the snow from last winter´s expedition with a shudder and ate another green pill from his medicbox. He had a variety of pills. This one helped keeping awake. Useful when hunting nighttime which he was already used to do now and then. But the guardkeeping was still kind of boring thus tiresome and he was not hunting anything just staring into the dark while the hours passed.
