To be honest, if I had to choose one of my greatest influences growing up, it would be Roald Dahl. He taught me something that's quite hard to learn.
Optimism.
(Also in Matilda that a short intelligent person is worth ten big strong people . . . but I digress . . .)
His nuggets of wisdom include:
