He knelt upon the heat washed stone, his eyes closed, his breathing even. The fantastic clouds and brilliant blues of the sky were utterly lost upon Crow, who, in repose, seemed content, almost blissful.

He was not.

Two days had passed since his exodus from the peaks. Two days since his battle with Wind. Two days…that felt like an eternity. Truly, there was no sensation greater than flight! No feeling was as magnificent, as powerful, as all consuming!

He dove, swooped, and twirled in a fantastic display of agility and skill. His heart was pounding, the darkness of his eyes lit with a passionate flame. Breathing in deeply, he rose sharply upward through the clouds, and let loose a cry of pure exhilaration before bending backward in a dive that left white streams of air skipping over he tips of his wings.

The heat of the sun on his back added to his fervor. He rolled, pulling up mere feet away from the sharp tops of the trees.
