They scream and jeer and slowly kill me.

A shadow of me,
is what I must be.

I was once happy, a vibrant soul.
I loved everyone, both young and old.
That all changed, when they ripped it out of me.
Screamed abuse, threw rocks and made me see.

How people are cruel, they will laugh and mock without end.
At the sad little girl who just wants a friend.
She needed someone to help her see.
That people were cruel and will never let you be.

Without a Shadow of a Doubt (Ch.2)“Ohh… my head… where am I?”
I woke up in the middle of a small room with plain grey walls. The room couldn’t have been more than ten feet on each side. To my right was a well-worn mattress that someone clearly didn’t have the consideration to put me on. Set into the wall on my left was a large door with a large rectangular window in the middle and a small cat-flap at the bottom. Other than that, the room was empty.
Once my headache (most likely induced by that knockout gas) had subsided, I decided to get up and look around. Maybe if I looked out the window, I could get a better idea of where I was.
Maybe I could figure out what had happened to my family.
Unfortunately for me, standing up was easier said than done. I got to my feet – and promptly tripped over them. My jeans had somehow grown larger while I had been unconscious. This alleyway was extremely quiet, so quiet that you could even hear the sound of your own blood pumping around your brain. The silence was so intense it filled the air around me with an eerie sensation, walking down this alleyway made me feel awkward, I felt like I was committing a serious crime by breaking the stillness with the sound of my heavy boots against the pavement. The rubbish bins down here were empty, they had been tipped over on purpose, some still had rubbish inside of them, but most of them were dented, snapped in half, or crushed into little squares.
