Without a Shadow of a Doubt (Ch.2)“Ohh… my head… where am I?”
I woke up in the middle of a small room with plain grey walls. The room couldn’t have been more than ten feet on each side. To my right was a well-worn mattress that someone clearly didn’t have the consideration to put me on. Set into the wall on my left was a large door with a large rectangular window in the middle and a small cat-flap at the bottom. Other than that, the room was empty.
Once my headache (most likely induced by that knockout gas) had subsided, I decided to get up and look around. Maybe if I looked out the window, I could get a better idea of where I was.
Maybe I could figure out what had happened to my family.
Unfortunately for me, standing up was easier said than done. I got to my feet – and promptly tripped over them. My jeans had somehow grown larger while I had been unconscious.
