I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW!!!
Yeah, the first episode leaked earlier this week. And I watched it. And it was amazing and beautiful and SO worth the wait!! It's being released officially tomorrow, along with episode 2, on korranation.com. <3<3 And the television premiere is April 14th. I intened to watch both. >w<
Last night I went to see Hunger Games (it was pretty good, better than I expected), and we sat in the thearter waiting for 4 hours, in dim lighting, so I drew. The lineart and the sketch that's not on lined paper are from that. A couple of not-Korra characters in there, because why not? And then the lined paper sketches are from during classes today. (Being sleep deprived from staying up all night leads to lots of doodles).
So, most of these were done entirely without reference. Please excuse any mistakes in the clothing or hair style or whatnot. I tried really hard.
Also, WTF is up with Bolin's hair?? I don't understand it. -_- Other than that, he's kinda my favorite so far. He hasn't even premiered, but....I really like his design. He's unique and kinda adorable. Mako's really hot in a Zuko-esque way (please let them be related!!), but less fun to draw. Bolin's got an adorable nose and funny eyebrows. <3 Plus, I suspect he's going to be the comic relief for this series, like Sokka. So I'm claining him as my favorite for now. >w>
Meanwhile, I've also fallen in love with Korra. She's exactly the type of female character I actually enjoy drawing. Tall, strong, silghtly curvy, has normal sized breasts and fun hair. She's gonna get sketched a lot. <3<3 Katara, on the other hand, I never liked much. Great character, but annoying person. And she's still hard to draw, because she's young. My friend yesterday kept creeping over my shoulder and telling me I was drawing her too old (because I'm incapable of drawing girls with a small chest...). I think I fixed it pretty well. Same friend also thought Haru was a girl and that Bolin's hair was on fire, though...
I want to paint the lineart ones at some point soon-ish. Hoping for better refs to show up, though. I'm too unsure of the colors for the guys right now...
