The piece of land had been the subject of a bitter land dispute for generations between the Yorks and the Seymours, a dispute in which the Yorks claimed victory. Only now, thanks to the tireless investigations of Deborah Parker and the insistence of the Thorn Foundation, it is a place of historical note and protected by the Heritage Society…with the kind permission from York Manor.
