The Bird of the Bay Poem.
In the big city by the Bay A girl found a new friend one day This friend hatched from an egg For help it did not beg The egg produced a bird Though loving without words A giant eagle it grew to be Though nobody it could really see The girl and her new bird friend Became partners with no end No one had seen or heard the beast Though the girl’s aunt’s scheme would not cease The aunt vowed to harm her niece’s pet Its relationship the aunt wouldn’t let The aunt succeeded in the bird’s death But the girl left while she had some breath She found another egg in the park It hatched and this new friend made its mark Both the girl and the large bird took wing Her big journey was now in full swing.
