The forest looked dark, even though it was clearly high morning from Elara’s perspective just outside the treeline of this forest. She had heard old tales of the dark forest she stood before. It held no name that she could find, the forest older than the history still told to centaurs on the isle. Looking around to see if anyone was around, Elara was met with the empty rolling hills behind her. Nodding to herself, Elara took a deep breath and then stepped forward. Her cloven hooves were quiet on the forest floor, the ground soft under her feet. Elara held the strap to her bag tightly as she entered the heavily shadowed forest. Trees grew close together in this forest, making it dark and hard to navigate. Thankfully, Elara was on the smaller, thinner side for centaurs and was able to moderately wander freely through the woods. The ground was littered with fallen sticks and branches, making Elara have to pick her way through the woods carefully so she did not make a ton of noise.
