There was one house on a particular street where two siblings were sat inside, lazily about. The heat reached indoors melting them into their sofas while their eyes were attached to the TV. The oldest sibling, James, held the controller controlling what they would be watching as the youngest, Sam, complained wanting a turn to pick. "James" she whined as her brother skipped through channels trying to find something to watch, "I want to pick!" He ignored her as he carried on clicking the button until he finally found a movie he used to watch as a kid, Sam let out a groan when she saw what he had picked. "I don't want to watch this; I hate it" Sam stood up from the other sofa and placed herself in front of the TV. James tried to gesture her to move, but she stood her ground, "move out of the way. You'll like this movie I used to watch it when I was your age." Sam rolled her eyes before attempting to snatch the controller away from him, "it's my turn now" she yelled as her brother had a

The soft glow of the television flickered over their seats, contrasting the pulling darkness of the rest of Ed's room. Eddy had insisted on his own armchair while Ed leaned over one of the arms, and Double Dee was situated on his own sleeping bag next to them. It was more fun that way, since they could hog the popcorn. Every once in a while, Ed and Eddy would hear the hungry whine of the teen next to them from the floor, but would only respond in hearty giggles while trying to avoid the arm that'd reach over the side in an attempt to steal some of their snack.
"Turn it up, Ed." Eddy said grinning, leanin

A Look Back at Warren Publishing's Eerie # 81
A Look Back at Warren Publishing’s “Eerie” issue 81 from 1977 While her nipples are absent, the artwork on this cover is pretty good. It was drawn by famous American fantasy and sci-fi artist Frank Frazetta. Warren Publishing was an American company founded by James Warren in 1957. It produced magazines such as “Famous Monsters of Filmland,” “Blazing Combat,” and horror-themed lines. In style and substance, Warren’s horror magazines “Creepy,” “Eerie,” and “Vampirella” resembled the EC horror comics published in the 1950s. (For more information on EC, check out my review of “Lost in the Microcosm.”) EC horror comics fell victim to Dr. Fredric Wertham’s campaign to prevent children from reading so-called objectionable comics and the subsequent creation of the Comics Code Authority. Warren sidestepped the Comics Code by printing sequential art in magazine format, vice comic format. His publications were aimed at an older audience. Issue number 81 was released in February 1977 and
Her world was a soft gray T-shirt, a landscape of fabric warmed by the massive chest beneath it. The rhythmic thump of the giant heart and whooshing of the massive lungs created ambient noise around her. Becca was sprawled out lazily with a dreamy smile on her face. This was her happy place. “Mmm…can I have a massage?” She decided to push her luck with her request. Could it get any more perfect? “Um, sure,” Liam responded, his deep voice resonating around and beneath her. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” Becca picked up on the hesitation in his voice, assuming it had to do with the fact that most boyfriends were rather begrudging about giving out massages. “Oh, no I want to,” Liam paused, “I’ve just never done anything like that…for a human.” “Ah, c’mon. You’ll do fine. I was worried you were one of those guys who hated putting in the effort.” Becca rolled onto her stomach and snuggled deeper into his chest. Liam felt heat rise into his face at the sensation of her cuddling

***Jacob POV*** “You really don’t have to come. I’ve got this,” I basically gruffed in a low tone, trying not to completely snap at Issac Green. “I’m happy to come. Plus, you have a sister at that party too right? What if you end up needing to help her? Then I’ll be there to help River,” Issac replied as his long strides easily kept up with mine. I wanted to fight his logic and explain that I was more than capable of seeing to both River and Parisa’s safety at this moment, however I didn’t have the strength to argue. I should have known this night would be chaos, hence why I tend to go to as few of parties as possible. “Are we even allowed to enter that subdivision? You know… the one the humans party in,” Issac asked. “River shared her location with me. She’s somehow run through the woods that bleed into Heidelberg Park,” “Oh, yeah I guess that is right near that subdivision,” “Near to us… I’m surprised River ran that far that fast to be honest,” “She must like running.
Over the next few weeks, the effects of Piers's revelation spread faster and farther than any rumor had overtaken the Market. While the father remained behind the scenes and enigmatic as ever, the son was out on the floor every single day. He was talking to and working with his fellow employees and consistently went out of his way to help customers on their behalf whenever he could. Word of his dependability soon brought questions to him rather than making him seek them out, and with each problem handled in a prompt and fair manner his reputation continued to grow. Like usual all manner of chatter made its way into Moonglow Bakery. Most of the employees already knew the ladies had befriended Piers, so there was no need to sell the couple on the half-elf's merit. Instead, he was brought up as naturally as anything else in the Market, just as a force for good not something to be lamented or complained about. Ceif and Va'l catalogued each of the stories, placing them as new pieces on
